Lets turn this hate into something positive… Stand up, protest in any way you can, and urge your friends and family to do the same. I was thinking maybe a trust fund for the victims family would be a good idea too, considering these two sons were the only sons and would have grown up to support their parents financially and take care of their sister (whose only 8 now I think)…

Spock: thats an amazing thought ... Even if a hundred people gave one dollar a month to this trust fund for the family, this would be 100 dollars per month i.e. ~9000 rupees!

Yes, BBC i read the thread and have told my family and friends to flag the videos. I also emailed the news channels hoping that someone would listen to us.

A trust fund for the family is an excellent idea. I'm willing to do my part Inshallah.

fm: I've never used a money transfer system so I don't know much about it... we'll have to figure out some way that allows us to donate 1-2 dollars per month. Any ideas?

Someone needs to get their bank account details or open an account for the unfortunate family in case they don't have any bank account in Sialkot and then we can send them money every month through direct debit.

Sialkot Family Trust Fund

Spock's idea of setting up a trust fund for the family of the Sialkot murder victims deserves a thread of its own.

I am so impressed that, despite our continuous donations to the flood victims, we are willing to contribute something to the unfortunate Sialkot family of the murders victims as well! MashaAllah.

If you have any ideas on how to go about setting this trust fund up or if you have any questions, please share them in this thread.

I can send money through by PayPal donate, if Spock should setup the website for it. This way anyone can send the money in electronically. The next thing to do is to speak to the family and either get their bank details to transfer money directly or to moneygram them with their name details.

I would highly recommend that we source a local individual that we can hold responsible for delivering the funds rather than sending it in the family's name.
Is there a local guppy?

I'm based in Dubai but I'm on holiday in Pakistan. What a horrible time to come home! Floods wreaking havoc, injustice and cruelty everywhere and so much poverty that it pains my heart.

I just drove from Islamabad to Sialkot today. On arrival, we obviously discussed this incident and I found out that the two brothers are relatives of a friend of my cousin. My grandfather is al7amdliAllah well respected in Sialkot and is one of the people who are applying their influence to pressure the 'authorities' (If we can even call them that) for justice.

I will inquire about them and then I think I can try get people in touch with the family directly I suppose, just cut out the middlemen which would reduce the chances of misappropriation of the donations. Give me a couple of days to try and sort something out.

I have another project I'm working on. We're planning on donating a reasonable part of our zameen in Kammanwala (We have bits of land in most areas around Sialkot but this area could use some help in terms of education and all) for a school. We're planning on a Islamic Studies + Primary Studies school for the local kids. InshaAllah everyone pray for this endeavor.

My wife - hareem01 will be going inshaAllah to Pakistan at the end of September (i.e. in a few weeks) ... We are Lahore based which means she will not be far from Sialkot. What she has agreed to do is get the details of the people from the family then she can give those details around here. I also think assurance is important and for this my wife may have to do a video/pics of them and ask them questions about their lives and family, etc then she can put it together as a video/article exclusive for Gupshup- demonstrating contact. If they don't have a bank account then she can photocopy the main persons (mother) National Identity Card and post it to people here.

The long term hopefully will be a webpage for the trust fund and PayPal and other ways to donate and then whoever controls the site to take the money and transfer into the account or send by moneygram and post the receipt on the website. My wife if she does make contact with them will probably stay in touch with them and may be they might become friends and we may hear of their progress also.
