Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will visit Gayari Sector of Siachen on April 17, sources said on Sunday.
The sources said that PML-N president would visit the site from April 17 to express solidarity with the Pakistani soldiers– who were buried under in avalanche on April 17– and their families. As many as 400 troops and some 60 civilian are busy in rescue and search operation.
I appreciate him if he is really visiting that area :salute:

Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
More than anyone else the president should have been there other than that I don't think many people should go there as it hinders the rescue efforts.
Yes he should do but only if he thinks that he is President of Whole Pakistan. Now a days he is only interested in Saraiki Bank and Saraiki Province. His behavior on this incident is really sad.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
The president should have been there the first day. But that’s not the issue here, that’s never the issue anyway. Tell me one person who does his duty up to the 100% required level in the government. Not just this one, but the ones that came before as well.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
the saddest part is that during the past few days the words that have come out from his mouth are to free the seraikis from the clutches of takht e Lahore, but I have not seen even a single word that he has uttered in sympathy/concern for the soldiers lost. Maybe he doesn’t care and he is the so called supreme commander of the armed forces.

Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
Not every good thing, but this I expected from him. Another chance to grow in stature, it would have taken less than a day.
What do you expect from PPPP, to stand by the army with all their heart?! Im-poss-ible This is the shtick we’ve put ourselves into. The head of state can’t spare a few words (or even half a day) for a tragedy of this scale. All this will do is create more murmurings in the army, from the lowest to the highest levels, jawans to officers.
If the peon couldn’t visit, then at least the waila person in the President House should have.

Chance for what? a photo op? NS is a politician, and is ironing his wasket during a possible election year. More power to him.
Imran doesnt need to go there to show his love for the army jawans. The mere logistical effort that will have to be made to fly and host these sharifs and zardaris in Siachen will be enormous, and will surely take away resources from where they are needed the most at this time.
The army knows that we all are praying for them. We dont have to be there to show it, and neither does Imran.
Zardari's case is different. He needs to be there, not for a photo-op (which he is), but for practical purposes, in terms of directing funds, resources and other needed stuff from the govt to the jawans there, in order to speed things up.
