Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
So IK was also in flood just for photo shot ? I'm not a big fan of NS but I"ll appreciate its good deed and yes its time to stand with Jawans to show them our love. IK is a big celebrity too and Jawans gets more encouragement to see him around them.
Chance for what? a photo op? NS is a politician, and is ironing his wasket during a possible election year. More power to him.
Imran doesnt need to go there to show his love for the army jawans. The mere logistical effort that will have to be made to fly and host these sharifs and zardaris in Siachen will be enormous, and will surely take away resources from where they are needed the most at this time.
The army knows that we all are praying for them. We dont have to be there to show it, and neither does Imran.
Zardari's case is different. He needs to be there, not for a photo-op (which he is), but for practical purposes, in terms of directing funds, resources and other needed stuff from the govt to the jawans there, in order to speed things up.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
Exactly, Imran is a national leader, and it’s time he started behaving like one! Seems like he’s put his brain in standby mode. Wonder who’s advising him. I don’t expect this from the second tier leadership of other political parties (agreed, they have no point going there), but the biggest names should have been there days ago to stand shoulder to shoulder with the army. Names like Imran, Zardari, Nawaz, even that ANP baba.
Even if it would be a token gesture, it would be a gesture nonetheless.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
Why must we drag Imran Khan’s name in every thread. In Western democracies and most other countries it is the President or PM who first visit such places (cancel or cut short foreign trips because they consider it their moral duty), not leader of opposition in Parliament let alone other opposition leaders and IK is not even an elected member of parliament at the moment
In Pakistan the exact opposite happens. Zardari ignores everything and goes to Britain (floods 2010) and India (Siachen avalanche 2012) on private visits
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
Yes its time to show Unity. Kia he acha ho agar tama provinces key CM wahan hathoon main hath daal kar yak jahti ka ilaan karain :hinna: my dreams :hinna:
Because we think IK ll take us out from all the crises. We have already criticized zardari on his pathetic move. I’m a big fan of IK and InshaAllah ll give my vote to him but I"ll criticize him on his bad moves as I"m not a blind follower.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
You guys do have to remember Imran Khan is still a work in progress. He isn’t there yet. It’s times likes these that a leader emerges, not sitting in front of the camera in the evening and giving TV interviews. Yes those are still important, and I am sure he has a packed schedule but when you have a disaster fall on over a 100 soldiers, the situation is different. He didn’t? His loss. Missed opportunity.
In other countries, even when 20 people are stuck in a coal mine, officials from the government as well as opposition parties make visits. It tells others about your priorities and sincerity, and let’s them know that as a national leader you have an eye on everything.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
So will I brother, so will I. Well said. People already think PTI will win 60-80% of the seats and votes. It’s not that easy, it’s never that easy. And besides, being a national leader is not everyone’s cup of tea. You have to struggle to get there. Events like these matter for a national leader.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
Does anyone know about Major Zaka Ul Haq? I knew a captain Zaka ul Haq back in 2000, fairly young (in this mid twenties back then) and attending Military College of Signals for a BE in Electrical Engineering... Just wanted to make sure it is not the same person.
Re: Siachen tragedy: Nawaz Sharif to visit Gayari Sector on 17th
i thought there was a facebook page set up by someone that name?
@Sannan: Imran is not a magician, but I have to say that if he comes to power, then the bar for improvement would be low and getting lower proportional to how long this current setup stays in power. I am all for giving him a chance, but personally I don't see a leader in him, even if he is a dashing person (according to many) and was a cricket captain and an apt philanthropist.
