I mean the period where our Islamic scholars used their heads. When they dealt with prostitution by training young girls how to be nurses. We'd send them to far corners of Egypt to help stop a growing epidemic of child mortality. The shame of Egypt, the very prostitutes that you all despise, are what gave rise to one of the greatest societies to ever grace our Islamic world. THAT was something to be proud of. That was modern!
Today in 2007 our leaders tell us to round up prostitutes, toss them into jails and kill them. Way to go.
subhan Allah u r on roll today, but i would like an instance of perfect speciman perhaps to further my understanding of your profound example. However i dont think those very scholars would like to legalize prostitution just so they can then transform the prostitutes into nurses. Its a long way to acquire nurses.
Note:I dont hate prostitutes , i hate prostitution.

i wonder if galz staying at home makes them dumb....then wat certificate awaragard guyz get, since they are also not making any positive mark, else than increasing prostitution, drugs, n other illegal activities (including harassing and bugging galz on their way to skool or homes)?

Direct or Indirerct? :)
Better education,
better family system,
media "positive" support,
unemployment/needy's allowance by the government (like Bait ul Maal),
New generations concept/personality building "from root level",
........... all these can diminish this cursed profession
only the law of diminshing utility will apply,
ironic hands will not work "the law of action/reaction"

Careful with what you say...to shias its not prostitution its the Islamic practice of mutah...i dont agree with it but they dont see it as prostitition...
And btw to the people who want to see prostitution legalised im still waiting to understand why you think that is better?...
By legalising it you make it a safer profession for girls to enter in terms of not recieving abuse cos their pimps/managers will be bound by employment laws...This also ensures the girl is more likely to get her cut and will increase business for freelance hookers...it will actually increase prostitution and prices wont go down...
So at the moment there is little financial incentive unless you are freelance and no guarantee of safety or any rights...by making it illegal there are many deterrants which wiould stop girls entering the trade by choice...by legalising it you will encourage girls to choose prostitution as a career cos hey it earns a hell of a lot more than a 9-5...you can get your 9-5 in an hr...it'll increase a hell of a lot...
Also consumption will increase cos men that worry about getting with a hooker worry about things like STDs and by having girls tested by law more people will safer visiting a brothel...your safer ****ing a girl from amsterdam than you are some back alley in brazil...
The only advantage anyone has brought up is you can tax it but by that i assume your legitimising it as a profession which does absolutely nothing to limit the problem...
Right now we have girls that dont become hookers by choice cos incentives arent that great but by legalising it you'll make the profession look that much more attractive...
