Shrine of bangladeshi martyrs who died fighting pakistan in 1971

http://www.gupistan.com/gallery/1/desh1small.jpg

This is the shrine which has been dedicated to the millions of bangladeshi soldiers who were misled into fighting and sacrificing their preciouse souls for the Kufr cause of nationalism and the dismantlement of the Islamic land. What caused the breakup of muslim land from being united as one Pakistan was the kufr idea of tribalism and regionalism, where instead of seeing ourselves as muslims we began to see fellow muslims as east pakistani, punjabi, sindhi, mohajir etc. These kufr ideas are produced in any country which adopts non Islamic rule, whereas the Islamic ruling system unites people on the basis of being muslim and nothing else. Allah swt states in the Quran " You are one ummah and i am your lord"
and the propher saw said " Whoever calls for nationalism, fights for nationalism and dies for nationalism, he is not one of us ". Also in a more powerful hadith in Mishkat ul masabih our blessed prophet who always speaks the truth unlike the corrupt muslim rulers of today like Musharaff said " the one who calls for nationalism is like the one who bites his fathers penis ".

Oh honourable ummah of Muhammed saw let us leave the kufr nationalism, tribalism and regionalism the following of which has divided us into over 50+ weak states, and unite once more under the flag of La illa ha illallah muhammadur rasoolallah manifested in the re-establishment of the Khilafah and fulfill our roles as witnesses to mankind.

Shrine of bangladeshi martyrs who died fighting Pakistan.

Lets disect it and analyze it according to the 'true islam' that you practice.

Shrine.....forbidden in Islam. Amounts to shirk. So you are hell bound before you even without going beyond the first word.

Bangladeshi Wreaks of nationalism. shouldnt it have been 'muslims' instead of bangladeshis?

unlike the corrupt muslim rulers of today like Musharaff

That was your primary objective...to drag politics in, and berate Musharraf. Why go through such a long song and dance about bangladeshi shrines in order to get to that point?

Now lets move this to politics.

Akif bhai you didn't read his punch line in the end which shows the 'direction'! :)

salaam Akif

I described the picture as understood by the vast majority of peple who visit it every year and see it as a shrine, you say that shrines are shirk, but what about ruling by non- Islamic law isn't that also shirk?

Bangladeshis wreaking of nationalism, your right again i use the term bangladeshi descriptivly. I hope you are also going to correct many on this board who are proud to be pakistani.

You have a problem with Islam and politics, this is wrong they are one and the same. Islam came to look after the affairs of the people, ruling, economics, judiciary etc according to Islam, not the kufr man made law that musharaff and other rulers like him rule according to.

sallam aleykum

Bangladeshis...... Martyrs........ Huh........

The guys who betrayed their fellow muslims and helped Hindus on the basis of nationalism. It is just like if you are calling Mir Jaffer or Mir Sadiq as martyrs of Islam. Traitor would be a good word for them.

Is it a crime to fight for your langauge and culture?..Most independant observers estimate the death toll of Bengalis killed in the revolt as 200,000. If I start quoting to you what Army officers used to say and call Bengalis you might think differently as well.

Do remember Bengalis fought for Pakistan, in a way they were the first pakistani's..

It's one thing to fight for your langauge and culture (though remember that in Islam, the only kind of warfare permitted is Jihad in Allah's cause; all else is disallowed), amd quite another to fight with the intention of splitting a group of muslims apart.

where this shrine is located??????????

How else are they going to get their political, lingual, and cultural freedom if not to seperate from Pakistan?

And to this day Pakistani establishment denies these rights to most of its citizens.

Salaam Al - Farooq

You are absolutely right, we muslims should refer to the Islamic rule for every action that we do. It is very sad to see the government of pakistan led by musharaff commit the same crime that bangladesh committed in 1971, and ally with ameriKKKa to kill fellow muslims in afganistan. Traitor would be a good word for musharaff.

Zakk

From the Islamic point of view, which is the only correct basis it is haram to fight for your language, culture, braderi, flag etc. Muslims only fight to make the deen of Allah swt the highest. Something which can be seen in kashmir, chechnya, palastine and afganistan.

cool down

This shrine is located in dhaka, the capital of bangladesh.

Badshah420

What they should have done was to remain part of pakistan and work with the sincere muslims to establish a state based on Islam where this exploitation does not exist.

Very true, I agree.

The Bengali's took up arms at the last possible time, they even supported Fatima Jinnah in the rigged 1964 elections, how more Pakistani can you be?

Despite being the major source of foreingxchange for Pakistan, by the export of jute. All jute was processed in West Pakistan, despite East Pakistan having the majority of the population 53% both Pakistani constituitions 56 and 62 gave them only 50% representation. They were only attained 7% represented in the Armed forces (they used to be called non martial races..and incapable of fighting, something which was proven otherwise when they launched their revolt)

I do not defend Mujib ur Rehman, or others for their actions, but the fact is Islam does not condone oppression nor does it condone massacres done in the name of Islam. Using Islam as an excuse does not fit in my opinion. I would recommend you read G W Choudhary's book the last days of United Pakistan..it's a very good read from an insider's perspective..

I totally agree with you. The main sticking point was that Pakistan tried to implement Urdu. Though I also believe that Quaid-e-Azam was sincere in trying to unify the nation by this move. Bengalis didnt like it I guess. They were most petriotic pakistanis, more than any we have even now, but everyone has a limit.

The two regions should have been two independent entities to start with, atleast economically and culturally. Even if the treasury was same, everyone would see the flow of money.

Pakistan in its initial stages grew on Jute income from east pakistan. By 60s and 70s that was decreasing and the west was putting in a bigger share. I mean west had enough food for its needs but it was always rationed to sustain the east.

Mujeeb, Indra Gadhi and Bhutto. All got what they deserved in this life :). Allah will decide what thy get in the after life.

"The Bengali's took up arms at the last possible time, they even supported Fatima Jinnah in the rigged 1964 elections, how more Pakistani can you be?"

Being Pakistani does not amount to support one politcian over another.. Patriotism comes from the heart and the basis of the Pakistan movement. You committed a non-sequiter fallacy i.e one issue does not correlate to another.

"Despite being the major source of foreingxchange for Pakistan, by the export of jute. I think history provides us with the best lessons..true jute was a major source. However we all know how the jute market and Bangladesh's pride and joy was brought down to it's knees after 1971? As for the military "prowess": yea like East Pakistan was separated from the West by Indian territory with mostly W.Pakistani forces operating under siege mentality. Hey don't forget the rag tag mukti bahini being supported by the mighty Indian forces. I'm not making excuses just mentioning realities where even the best trained military would have lost under those circumstances. The fact remains that Bengalis are non-martial people historically. It is the Pakhtoons, Punjabis, Baluchis of Pakistan/Sikhs, Marathis, Mughals, Rajputs that are martial races...that is reality...live with it. As for the population, I agree that they were in the majority and should not have been denied those rights.

I agree on the Islamic perspective, and as you and I believe...we will all be judged individually by the Creator. In no way were Pak's angels but niether were the Bengalis (read up on F Jehan's "The Tigers of Bengal" on the atrocities of the Mukti Bahini post-independence)...hey let us not forget about Bangladeshes "Quaid e Azam" Mujib...whose end came in not so honorable circumstances. Anyone want to discuss his "departure"?

And it is sad, that to this day we have not learnt the mistakes of 1971. We still insist on Urdu only and we still ignore minority ethnicities.

It goes to the credit of their sacrifices that they r not in the mess as pak is. Their hands r not red in Afghan blood. And their character is not tarnished in helping out Americans killing innocent Afghans.

Freemind

bangladeshe's corrupt rulers like muslim rulers everywhere supported america on their crusade against Islam. They are as guilty as all the rest of the corrupt bunch. And yes because they implement the same corrupt system from the west they are in the same mess as a nation.

I find the whole concept of Martial races offensive it's a left over of the Imperial Rulers. The Mughal's had the same concept about Rajputs and Pashtuns as the British. The sad fact is both people have left themselves in a state of total ruin. Economically the most deprived people.
The Tamils were also considered non martial races, They served Tip Sultan most loyally and inflicted many a defeat on the British.

The Americans and the britsh had a similair concept about the Japanese( and Chinese), who according to them were short by stature and hence could not achieve Western Concepts of Height for Army recruitment,
Something similair happened in Pakistan, something which Air Marshal Asghar Khan, alluded to when he was Air Force Chief and lowered the height requirement. A similair argument is used against Baluchis and Sindhi's as well as Mohajirs for that matter( non martial) .

The non martial Japanese inflicted the most spectacular defeat against Russia in the beginning of the 20th Century. The non martial Vietnamese did the same to the Americans, and The Chinese nearly routed the Americans in Korea (despite the Chinese being short of logistics weapons etc)

As for Bengalis, please check up on your history, the Muslim League was formed in Dhaka..the pakistan Resolution was tabled by a Bengali, the only place Jinnah managed to attract large rallies was in Bengal in the beginning of his tehrik...I don't question the Mukhti bahini was involved in atrocties. But do tell me when you hear of 250,000 deaths in Bosnia..or Checnya, what would your response be?..That they deserved it?

“I find the whole concept of Martial races offensive it’s a left over of the Imperial Rulers. The Mughal’s had the same concept about Rajputs and Pashtuns as the British. The sad fact is both people have left themselves in a state of total ruin. Economically the most deprived people.

Sir, it was not my intention to offend. I am not talking about “who” has considered “whom” a martial race. I based my arguments on history (If you reread my message you will see that). Your statement about Tamils is true, and I will even go ahead to include the Ksashmiris fighting for independence to further solidify your point. However the reality (as per History) is that niether Kashmiris nor Tamils have a history of intermittent warfare or a large scale military participation. The Pakhtuns have historically been warlike people and I don’t need to remind you of that tradition continuing to this day (Afghanistan & Pakhtun tribals of Pakistan). As for the Rajputs, they fought their was into S. Asia and even to this day constitute a very large portion of Pakistan’s military and fought against attacks from Afghanistan in India. So compare that to your Tamils whose LTTE movement is a mere abherration in the timeline of world’s history: The Pakhtuns and Rajputs ARE Martial Races.

“The Americans and the britsh had a similair concept about the Japanese( and Chinese), who according to them were short by stature and hence could not achieve Western Concepts of Height for Army recruitment,

I didn’t know stature has ANYTHING at all with being a martial race. That may be a stereotype in your mind, however where did I mention that you have to be TALL to be warlike? I don’t understand why you want every race to martial anyway? it is not exactly a matter of pride because Bengalis and Sindhis being non-martial, allowed their cultures and languages to develop, which is definately more beneficial than being in constant conflict. ANY one can fight when provoked, but what I’m referring to has more to do with the cultural ethos.

“The non martial Japanese inflicted the most spectacular defeat against Russia in the beginning of the 20th Century. The non martial Vietnamese did the same to the Americans, and The Chinese nearly routed the Americans in Korea (despite the Chinese being short of logistics weapons etc)”

Do you know about Japan? I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude but you should definately read up on Japanese history (very facinating)their history is FULL of Samurai and Shoganate traditions. In NO way are the Japanese non-martial! Compared to the Chinese, their Kingdoms have always been aggresively warlike and WW II is the manifestation of that tradition. The Vietnamese were fighting a purely defensive war on their own territory and I don’t even want to bring up the political aspects of the war with the Viet Cong having the sympathies of the people, and the domestic turmoil in the US. Finally, when did CHINESE soldiers fight against the US in Korea? All the Chinese did was to provide material and logistics support.

“As for Bengalis, please check up on your history, the Muslim League was formed in Dhaka..the pakistan Resolution was tabled by a Bengali, the only place Jinnah managed to attract large rallies was in Bengal in the beginning of his tehrik…”

Yes sir I do know my history and the facts about ML and the Pakistan are true indeed. My question to you is that: With the facts that you mentioned, does that somehow make them “immune” from criticism, as in taking part in the Pakistan movement? With deference, I ask you, why would you help build a house only to dismantle half of it? Jinnah’s main support was NOT the Bengalies though. The Pakistan Movement was fervently and most unequivocally supported by the Muslims who came from what is present day India. From the majority of the the leadership, to the rallies, to the migration it is Muslims who migrated from India that deserve MUCH of the credit and that is why Urdu (the language of the migrants and the Indentity of Muslims of S. Asia) became the integral part of Pakistan. To be balanced, I am not denying the significant support from the Bengalies and other Pakistanis.

“I don’t question the Mukhti bahini was involved in atrocties. But do tell me when you hear of 250,000 deaths in Bosnia..or Checnya, what would your response be?..That they deserved it?”

Of course not! I don’t think any deaths are justifiable whether those being killed are Muslim or not. Like I said before, no one can condone the actions of the military but do not forget also forget these prsent day realities of an independent Bangladesh:

  • Pakistan & India are nuclear powers, where is Bangladesh? Not that I am condoning Nuclear weapons, but both people of India/Pakistan can atleast be proud of their progress and abilities.
  • What is Bangladesh’s status in the world arena? Less than Pakistan/India?
  • Are food shortages, weather related calamities a regular (anticipated) occurrance in India/Pakistan? Nope only in bangladesh due to the geographic location.

I have more points but I reserve them in the interests of time and space. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not bashing Bangladeshes existance, however I bring up the instances where they lost out in leaving Pakistan. By all means if “Amar Sonar Bangla” and “Joi Bangla” are any indications, then I wish every Bangladeshi the best of luck in building their country.

Now that I have answered all your questions. You answer mine:

The raison d’eitre for Bangladesh is Bengali nationalism, correct?

Then when are they planning to annex West Bengal and it’s jewel Kolkata?
