In my opinion, both should maintain themselves… even at 40. I don’t see any reason to why either of them cannot maintain their physiques later on in life.
I definitely plan to, I don’t want to have a belly at the age of 40 and… I would definitely appreciate it if my wife does the same.
I really don’t want my kids to see me with a belly. I want to be able to go to the gym with them and be able to compete with them in any sport.
What I disagree with is if the husband does not look after himself but expects his wife to… but if he can so can she.

Its not just about looking sexy… its about being fit and having a healthy lifestyle even at the age of 40/50. I want to set a good example for my kids and I would want my wife to do the same

I don’t get why people try to “be sexy” for others… I don’t like looking into the mirror and seeing myself with a pot belly especially considering the fact that I *can *do something about it by going to the gym.
I think people should try to look good/fit/sexy…(whatever adjective you want to use)… for themselves not for others.
