Re: Should Punjab carry Pakistan's burden?

What sort of questions they could have asked during that period in a hierarchical organization having non-punjabi COAS?
Who "nominates" a COAS? Do you know what is the "criteria" for picking a COAS? ;)
You want to tell us that Ayub khan was appointed the country's first native commander-in-chief by Liaquat Ali Khan?
or Zia ul Haq was appointed by Zulifqar Ali bhutto?
or just ducking the point?

Re: Should Punjab carry Pakistan's burden?

Any question that would hint of a candidate from "Hindustan", non-Punjabi or no-army-relatives would be a starter.

naa ji naa, marday momin marday haq Ziaul Haq was the most deserving candidate for COAS, this is what you are implying right? And same goes for Musharraf too?

Pathans were always considered a martial race, but what about the others?

Re: Should Punjab carry Pakistan's burden?

Sometimes I wish Punjabis were as politically active as they are thought to be!

Re: Should Punjab carry Pakistan's burden?

I am not aware 30-40 years ago but since I have been following the budgets I have seen a similar ratio, with ratio for Balochistan increasing in last few years from around 7% to 10%.

Re: Should Punjab carry Pakistan’s burden?

FIRSTLY, quoting the well head price just tells one side of the story. You have to take into account the operational costs of gas produced in each province and when it was discovered. The gas discovered and produced later will need a lot more infrastructure development, operational costs and fees to the companies involved than the wells operational for decades. Secodnly, if Punjabis were killing Balochs, Muhajirs like what happened in Balochistan and Karachi, I will be very happy for an operation in Punjab.
