Should PCB work actively to enable pakistani players to participate in next season of IPL? Some say, this is a great opportunitiy for players to showcase their talent, especially for the young ones. Also, its a great opportunity to make money. Rumors are also that IPL has not invited PCB/pakistani players to participate in IPL
What are your thoughts?
I think its a win-win if they do. Pakistan has great T20 players, and adding them to the IPL mix would only make things better for the tournament.
That being said, I am not sure that the political climate in India is such that Pakistani players would be invited/contracted by the IPL organizers/franchisees. Before PCB/BCCI can do anything there has to be some kind of agreement at the government level that would enable the Pak players to participate.
I think...Pakistan should improve its cricket + other sports infrastructure...good people in and on boards...hone young talents...we don't have shortage I guess...non-Pakistani sportsmen/women will come to Pakistan to participate in events...though the sporting spirits should be paramount...and the money and fame second... :)
we produce raw talent .... we dnt depend on counties and ipl to produce wasim, waqar, shoaib, asif or amir. but u got the point lets hope for the best.
I have an even better idea. Pakistan's main problem is batting esp. chasing a target.
Now that PCB has received an estimated $8 million as net revenue from 2011 world cup, how about PCB organizing a chasing contest between the top 22 players in the country. i.e. group the best players into 2 teams A & B and ask them to chase 280 in 50 overs 5 times each (or ten games altogether)
Whichever team does it the most times gets a prize money of $1 million from PCB. In the event of a tie or a game being abandoned by rain or bad weather, the team with the best NRR wins the contest

Oh yes IPL and PCB Should send/invite Pakistani players for the IPL games. not that it will earn them a good amount but it will be a good practice too. And Pakistani players are excellent when it comes to 20-twenty matches (2009 T20 comes to the mind)
Just throwing in my Wild thoughts here, may be a bit off topic.
What if IPL wasnt Indian premier league but instead it was a Indian Subcontinent Premier league.
we could have lahore lions, karachi kawwas, dhaka dakus, colombo cobras, kabul bulbuls etc etc too. Teams could play half of their games at home and rest away games.
That would make everyone have a stake in the event and would be great for subcontinent sports and mutual harmony.
If karachi wins the cup then Indians can find comfort in the fact that lahoris will be as sad as them and so on.
I know ICL did something similar but IPL is in a different league and can do things way better than anyone else.
How about Pakistan starting the PPL and invite Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan in fact All the Big Teams Players and "Refuse" to allow Indian Players?
TIT FOR TAT AND TAT FOR TIT!
good idea but who will put in tons of money? IPL is showering players with crazy money.... thats the only attraction.... Pakistan dont have that kind of crazy ppl....

Thank you for listening.
Not a bad idea, but wouldn't it be just like the champions league?

Its about mental toughness, which Pakistanis lack. I think they need to do some mind exercises, some yoga, some LSAT questions to keep their nerves calm.
Indian team even got a mountaineer to give them a pep talk about achieving the impossible. We should do the same. Get a Drill Sargent from Pakistani Army to whip these guys into shape.
