But even then ... Is he really the great leader? Or is he just the main man who was in office when Pakistan was formed?

Re: should pakistan have been made?was qaid-eazam wrong.
I have reservation with this statement, but where does it say he was a "great leader"?
It's like saying that if a woman gives birth to child that she is great mother. No ... She has to raise the child to be a great mother.
Jinnah is not only responsible for the formation of Pakistan, but in turn responsible for making one nation in to bits. Bangladesh and Kashmir are his actions progeny and for sure he should be credited for the forming of India as well, by exception of course.
I was however talking about being a great leader - not a nation carver/former - you choose which.
Re: should pakistan have been made?was qaid-eazam wrong.
psayh, if you choose to ignore world history and historians on this matter and form your own opinion thats your prerogative, no point convincing you otherwise. fact is, he is known in history as a great leader, if you are looking for reasons why, maybe you should look them up and find out why yourself. you don't seem to have any knowledge regarding Jinnah whatsover, as is apparent from your earlier statement regarding his title which you tried to give a religious spin to. I am not going to educate you on his leadership skills, you can look that up if you are really looking to educate yourself.
in my opinion he is derserving of the title because he lead 94 million muslims to become one voice, one demand and ultimately one nation. millions chose him as their spokesman and leader and supported him for his 2 nation theory because he believed muslims in India had their own distinct culture, language and literature, art and architecture, sense of values and moral code, customs and calendar, history and tradition, in short, they had our own distinctive outlook in life which had to be recognized in the form of an independent nation. being able to spearhead and carry out this massive movement is what earned Jinnah the title of 'a great leader', whether one supports this 2 nation theory or not is besides the point. what happened to this nation and Jinnah's vision after his death, barely a yr after independence, does not downgrade his place in world history and his leadership skills which united 94 million muslims under one cause.
