Nope - Quaid means ’ Leader ’ and Azam means ’ great’ - so by using the -e- conjuction in urdu, it becomes ’ The great leader '.. which he was indeed ..

Thank you Naabigh … I was taking it on the lines that qaid comes from the root of qaidah and hence means something like foundation, basis, beginning, but I see that “leader” can share the root from the the same without an issue. So I stand blissfully corrected.

But even then … Is he really the great leader? Or is he just the main man who was in office when Pakistan was formed?
