Magic is part and parcel of what we call illusion and deception today. It does exist and there are ‘potions’ remnant to ‘intoxicants’ and ‘mind-altering drugs’ to todays standards. There is hypnotism which can be used to make people believe things as well. Hypnotism itself may just be a science but the art used to deceive would be parallel to what is understood as magic.
Read up about Harut and Marut and you will see that magic is mentioned explicitly in the Qur’an.
