Why all this bother about not being able to watch UAE's PeaceTv of all things? It has been banned for beaming anti-India programmes. Why should Indians of any religion watch or want to watch Anti-Indian channels? It is on the Hatelist with other Pak channels, Nepal TV, Saudi TV, Kantipur(Nepal) and Bhutan Broadcasting service. Religious channels should mind the people of the faith they cater to. Promoting one's religion at the cost of demeaning others on air or owners of said channels is the high road to being banned and rightly so.

there is one zee salam specific to one dth service and then there is no other channel…

Maybe Geo TV has failed to impress indian administration and viewers with Aman ki Asha. Maybe they got that Aman ki Asha is a “drama” to get viewers of both sides

I think Geo is very secular channel which is also evident from the latest program 'chal paRa', where they only give proper chance to people with secular thoughts to condemn the system and Islamic traditions indirectly. Geo is spreading a sense of inferiority complex over Islamic values of the society as per a particular faction of society

No I haven't had the dubious pleasure of watching Sudershan TV. If it is anti-India it should be banned too. A google search threw up results like "Sudarshan TV exposes Zakir Naik Lies" :DIs that your bone of contention with them? Zakir Naik is a rabble rouser and any TV which broadcasts his divisive lies should be banned. I have not problems if they only preach their own religion without crossing borders with other religions in a show of one-up manship.

I am not advocating blasphemy law here. I know of Zakir Naik's lies w.r.t my religion . May be he is a good and truthful Islamic scholar, I wouldn't know. If is a good Islamic preacher then it is good for him and his supporters. But he is definitely a liar when it comes to my religion. He quotes out of contexts and only parts of texts to change the meaning of our verses or adds new words that do not exist. As for Sri Ravi Shankar, I am not aware of any quoting Koran out of context by him against Islam. if he has done that then he must be condemned too by refuting up his claim by quoting the correct verses and in context. Ravi Shankar has no business promoting Hinduism by showcasing other religions as inferior or in a negative light. I am all for religious leaders preaching there own religions in a correct and truthful manner to those who are interested.

Granted that Ravi Shankar is not accurate. Why don't you refute his comments by proving him wrong and proving him a liar? What do you want me to do? I am not an authority in Islam to disprove him, If I want to indulge in a little bit of inter-faith discussion with muslims, you will not find me quoting Ravi Shankar's opinions on Islam as the truth on Islam , I would rather ask muslims or this forum about their religion .
