What kinds of rights are we talking about? The right to do it? Aren’t they already getting those rights? I don’t think homos want to get “nikahed” in pak anyway, cuz what benefits do we get being married in Pakistan anyway? The ppl in the west want the tax breaks and whatever benefits married ppl get. And condoning a gunah makes it even more commonplace, so I’d rather they not be so in ur face and come out of the closets. Its so common under table (as the “statistics” say) I wonder what it would be like if they could be open about it. Ofcourse they shouldn’t be stupid enough to marry someone if they can’t be monogamous with their wives. But I do wonder if there are guys out there who r technically gay but control their behaviour and marry someone and do stay faithful? What I read is that is what Islam expects of us if we are gay. That yes God made us this way but this is our test, to fight against our nafs and not act it.

^If you married a man that you didn’t know was gay and found out after being nikaahfied that he was, what would you do? Obviously a gay guy would not want to have sexual intercourse and would be very emotionally abusive and numb to you. Along with being frustrated most all the time. I understand that Islam sees it as gunah but imagine life with such a man that is trying to hide his true sexuality and was really not into what straight people are into, sexual intercourse, attraction to women, what would you do? Does it really matter if he was faithful or not?

We can call it BS but we can’t escape the fact that gay people exist and as hard as they try to “act” straight for the sake of religion or society, they cannot change who they are attracted to and what they were born as. If we can get away from the philosophical and religious talk for a second and come to reality of being married to a gay person, life would seriously suck for both people in such a marriage. Both people’s lives would be ruined.
