Inzi dances down the pitch way too early, the Indian left-arm spinner (I think it was Joshi) tries to jam the ball into Inzi’s body, Inzi moves to his left in a flash and still manages to crash the ball for a six over cover.
-
Saeed Anwar plants his foot down the pitch and caresses the ball into the midwicket stand with nothing but a flick of the wrist. The bowler’s Alan Donald and the match is the final of a triangular series played in South Africa. I’ve not seen any batsman hit such effortless sixes.

Jayasuria takes an outside the offstump ball from a fiery Waqar Younis and thwacks it over the square leg boundary (final of 1996 Singer Cup played in Sri Lanka). Jayasuria I think smashed the fastest 50 record and maybe the fastest 100 too in that match though Pakistan still managed to win it thanks to Saqi’s heroics.
Ground: Lords
Test Match between West Indies and England
Late 70's
Bob Willis trying to contain Viv with bowling off-line and 7-2 field. Willis bowls five consecutive off-liners. On the sixth delivery, whoch is a good 1 1/2 ft outside off, Viv takes two steps towards off and pulls it to Deep Square Leg for a six.
Semi Final 1992. Inzi heaves Chris Harris with one knee bent touching the ground over Extra Covers for a SIX.
Well who can forget the shot of them all, Miandad's six at Sharjah. He outfoxed Sharma, moved slightly to the off even before the delivery was bowled and pulled it effortlessly for a six.
Sachin's six against Shoaib in the last world cup.
WC 1992 Semi final, Danny Morrison to Inzi
Inzi comes down the wicket lofts it over cover into the wind and still manages to just clear the hoardings. One of the most stylish sixes i have seen.

Azhar’s 5 consecutive 4s of Klusener at Eden Garden. All on Midwicket hit by just a flick of wrist.Too bad Azhar scored 100 and India lost.

Gosh…there are too many..These are the few I can remember.
Miandad's Six of Sharma (1986, Sharjah Cup) - sada bahar
Saeed's Six of Anil Kumble (in hi inning of 196) - wah kia style hai
Sachin's Six of Shoaib (2003 Worldcup) - zakham taza hai
Viv Richard's Six of Ratnayek (1987 WorkdCup- KHI) - itna maroon ga k...
Another one is this sequence that happened in final of 2002 Natwest Final.
After each four.Stand in captain Tescothik tried to plug that gap by moving one fielder and next four was hit exactlly at the same place where fielder was tanding prior to his movement to new location.
*
12.1 Irani to Sehwag, FOUR, full in length, picked up early and
deposited over mid-wicket, one bounce and over the ropes.
The run rate climbs up to 6.99
Third-man brought up, a fielder goes towards the deep towards mid-
wicket, just can't cover all the angles in the first 15 overs
12.2 Irani to Sehwag, FOUR, outside the off, driven square, in the air,
through what would have been a gully, down to the now vacant
third-man for four. England has a problem now.
12.3 Irani to Sehwag, FOUR, paddles this one around towards the now
vacant fine leg for four, it is all happening here at Lord's,
three fours ina row, stand-in skipper Trescothick just can't get
the field right.
12.4 Irani to Sehwag, no run, well up to the batsman, driven to mid-on
12.5 Irani to Sehwag, FOUR, is there a way to stop this man? Whipped
through square leg, wide of Trescothick and the ball crashes into
the fence for four

Arguably the greatest shot ever to be played in cricket: Bob Willis to Viv Richards, Old Trafford 1984, stands tall and then moves back from his One Leg Gaurd, Willis Pitches it slightly up outside off stump. Richards stays where he was, just moves his front foot forwards(Not towards line of the Ball, but farward), his weight is still on Backfoot, body away from the line of the ball, Just extends his arms and the Ball goes a mile Out side the stadium....
Arvinda Desila's Six of brett lee of his toe during the round match of WC 2003.
Brian Lars's Hook of Donald that Landed Out side Long On fence in 1999.
A few of the Flicked, swept sixes by Moin Khan during 99 WC.
One of the Square drives that Anwar played during ATC game at Calcutta against Srinath, absolutely effortless.
The Game Responds:
*I just can't forget those two fours Klusener hit in the last over of the 1999 World Cup Semi Final. 9 runs required off the last over, and he ate them up in two balls through two breathtaking shots. Too bad, South Africa lost. People, That Is All.*
and u forgot rashid latif's shot when he sat down and played the ball with a vertical bat over his head????
how cud u????
Hey i have that shot in my mind for a long time didnt know if anybody has already played it. Damn It. ![]()
:k:
-Anwar flicking full balls on leg over mid-wicket/deep square-leg for six (many times). most notably 96-wc quarterfinal.
- Mark Waugh lazily flicking Donald off leg for six to midwicket in Sa. dont recall yr
-Azhar wristfully toying Klusener all around the midwicket rope in his last tour to SA.
- Moin ke thapparrs on the off-side. visible almost every match.
Ijaz's Six to Prasad in Sharjah , dont remember the year 98-99 maybe. it went miles high in the air and hit the big LG sign on top of the stadium
Moin hit a four to Kumble dont remember which match. he simply got on one knee placed the bat at the pitch of the ball with one hand and it raced to fine leg for 4
Saeed's last shot of his 194 innings off Tendulkar that was cought by ganguly
Tendulkars six of shoaib was a beauty
another thing that i can never forget is a throw from Ijaz from the boundry which hit direct. the running batsman ducked to avoid the ball hitting his head and it hit the stumps. when Ijaz was about to throw Moin yelled " shabash Cheeetayy"
nikamay hi raho ge ![]()

*Can someone please tell me what was so great about Tendulkar's six off Shoaib Akhtar in the last World Cup? I have seen Afridi hit horizontal bat sixes over cover; now that takes something special(Not that I'm comparing Tendulkar's batting with Afridi's, God No!). That Tendulkar shot could have been played by any higher order batsman. People, That Is All.*
Razzaq's straigt sixes in his last ODI inning agsint NZL, too bad he still finished on a losing side.

- i agree strongly with Triple H, in that world cup game shoaibi's delivery had so much velocity and momentum that 10dulkar didn't have to do any work with the ball, he just had to make sure the bat connected with the ball, and the ball itself would sail over the boundry given the speed and bounce on it, and that's exactly wat happened, any good batsmen could do that, let alone 10dulkar *

I remember these shots. excellent stuff.
Moin's innings against the Lankans where he and Inzi piled on 75 in the last five overs also had some ridiculous shots.

Usually a half-century or a century of Saeed's used to be laced with at least a couple of flicked sixes during that 2-3 year period (the mid to late nineties). but I noticed he stopped playing that shot completely post 98-99, did anybody else notice it too? I didn't even see him attempt that shot afterwards. he seemed to cut that shot out completely?
