when it comes to cricket, there has been and always will be only one shot...The Shot Heard 'Round the World when Miandad cracked the last ball for six and declared the arrival of Pakistani cricket.

Test Match between West Indies and England
Late 70's
Bob Willis trying to contain Viv with bowling off-line and 7-2 field. Willis bowls five consecutive off-liners. On the sixth delivery, whoch is a good 1 1/2 ft outside off, Viv takes two steps towards off and pulls it to Deep Square Leg for a six.

It was the Wc FInal 1979 and may be the bowler was Botham not Willis.
Oh my bad man! It was Willis not botham(and he bowled a full toss which richards pulled for six) i still have the Old Trafford Innings in my mind where Botham bowled the final over and last ball was hit for boubdery by Viv.
1999 world cup - Super Six match - Pakistan vs South Africa
Shoaib Akhtar running towards Lance Klusener who's busy chewing his gum - Shoaib comes and pitched the ball - Zulu stands firm on his ground - and just hammers it over the mid wicket and into the crowd - it's a SIX - WOW - what a POWERFUL SHOT!!!!!!!
Jadeja taking apart Waqar with effortless shots in the World Cup Quarter Final (1996 I think).

Yep i remember that, all of that came in a Dramatic Over that tuned the game around in SA's favor. I remember two other balls in that over, one that was a yorkar and Kluesner was totally beaten, the ball was so quick that it also beat the diving Moin and went for 4 bye's., also it was the same over where shoaib broke Klusener's Bat.....really edge of the seat stuff.

Usually a half-century or a century of Saeed's used to be laced with at least a couple of flicked sixes during that 2-3 year period (the mid to late nineties). but I noticed he stopped playing that shot completely post 98-99, did anybody else notice it too? I didn't even see him attempt that shot afterwards. he seemed to cut that shot out completely?

*Yep. Remember those shots clearly and how he stopped playing those. It takes some real talent to hit such effortless sixes. People, That Is All.*

Somebody needs to get his facts right. It was a TIE not a loss for South Africa.
People, That Is All.
Australia Vs NZ in NZ maybe three years ago, Shane Warne bowling his extreme leg cutters from way around the wicket...too much turn...foxed all the NZ batsmen...
Chris Cairns batting now...
Warnie runs up, flips it one feet outside legstump...
Cairns just turn so that he is facing square leg and coolly picks it up and heaves it for a big six...
Warne smiles, claps and changes his guard and starts bowling over the wicket....

*Virtually a loss to be honest. Who cares about such facts and stats except sheep like you; when your team couldn't get to the Final of the World Cup because you managed to tie the semi, you lost it mate. People, That Is All.*

Nikema - if you remember all that correctly then you should know South Africa were 58 or something like that for 5 wickets down! Pollock and Kallis rally back South Africa in the game - Pakistan lost the game virtually when they were celebrating out on Trent Bridge, Nottingham field after Jones went back to pavilion - Saeed Anwar dropping an easy catch of Zulu at the extra cover - damn that i did not expect from him - Anwar messed that one up bigtime - and it was clearly all written on Wasim's face too!
i thought Shaoib was awesome - in his first spell Shoaib bowled really good but in the end he bowled a bit short - Kallis and Zulu took full advantage of it - and Shoaib paid the price!
but technically he is correct...
people that is all.
