Gucci's new one smells great too. Its a squarish bottle with a big round top.
For foundation/powder/concealer I'd recommend something like Channel. You'll pay a little extra but it's worth the extra $. Elizabeth Arden foundation/powder is good too.
Eyeshadows/lipstick/blush etc. - For this you can do either Clinique, Lancome, Este Lauder etc. For these things, most brands are fine....you just need to look at the colors. If there are particular colors you're looking for, then u just need to go to the mall, look around and see which brand has that exact color.
Perfumes - I work at a perfume store. I personally wouldn't recommend any perfume by Clinique, Este Lauder, or Lancome etc. simply b/c they're soooo popular and every other person you meet has heard of them or wears them. You didn't write what kind of scents you like(soft/sweet/fruity/strong etc.) so I don't know what specifically to recommend to you but here is a list of perfumes that I personally like and most of my customers love them. These are all different kind of smells and I'll try my best to describe the smell next to the name. I'll also write down whether or not I personally use them.
Oxygene by Lanvin (Sweet; in betweek soft and strong; I have this one; BTW, I know Foley's doesn't carry this anymore)
Light Blue by Dolce & Gabanna (Sweet smell; kinda lemony)
Burberry London (kinda strong)
Weekend by Burberry (Sweet; Fruity)
Very Irrisistible by Givenchy (Feminine; soft; hint of sweetness; I have this one)
Shi by Alfred Sung (Sweet; femine; not soft but not strong either; I have this)
Reserve by Perry Ellis (Soft/femine)
Organza by Givenchy (Strong; long lasting)
Amarige by Givenchy (Strong)
Accent by Gucci (Light; hard to describe; test it at mall if u get a chance)
Issey Miyake (Strong; Long lasting)
Angel by Tierry Muegler(Soft smell; hard to describe; don't think Foley's/Dillard's etc carry this; it's carried in Newman Marcus as far as I know)
This is all I can think of for now. It's really hard to recommend perfumes without knowing what kind of scents you prefer. What smells good to me might smell horrible to you! LOL.....but hopefully these help. The big departments stores might not even carry all of these(for example, Foley's doesn't carry Oxygene anymore). What I'd hightly recommend is that you go to a perfume specialty store if there is one near where u live, and they'll have a much wider selection. Their prices will be cheaper too. Same with online stores....My personal recommendation is once u decide which perfume you want, look for it online......
