I've noticed that many of the ladies have suggested Clinique facial products. Just to let you know that Clinique is successful due to its huge advertising campaign, it has a full page ad in almost all women magazines. If you ask an esthetician-most will tell you that Clinique is almost the worst brand to put on your face that you can buy in a deptartment store. Try some of the other counters -Shiseido for instance is amazing!
Back on topic:
-Tweezers
-Pedicure kit
-bubble bath
-vaseline
-safety pins
-bobby pins
Totally forgot......for facial soaps, face wash etc., one good brand is Cetaphil. That's what I use.....it's very gentle.....I have acne and this is what my dermatologist recommeneded. I also used to use clinique but it dried out my fact(and I have oily skin!).
Hmm first things first knowing about make up has nothing to do with being married. I would also suggest that you learn a thing or two from those counters at the mall about applying make up rather than worrying about buy everything, you don't want to put everything on for the sake of having make up on and look like a clown do you?
Everyone here already gave you nice items :). One of the perfumes I like is Celine Dion's new one. Cant remember the name, but it smells heavenly to me :D
Makeup:I haveyet to find a brand I like. I have tried everything from Mary Kay to Clinique to CG. I dont usually wear foundation but when I do, i now stick with Maybelline.
Hair: wahtever shampoo works for ya I guess.
Eyelash curler is a must for any girl. :D
A manicure kit: with clippers, nail file etc.
A sewing kit, maybe?
Cant remember anything else right now. Will post later if i remember. Good luck Xara. Whenis the big day InshaAllah? :)
Lost: I recently bought cetaphil too. Its cheaper than the other big brands but very gentle. I like it a lot!Better than Clinique ( dried my oily skin!) and Mary Kay(too oily). :)
1- Rolling pin
2- Pressure Cooker
3-Clothing Iron
4- Vacuum cleaner.
5-And ofcourse, the Spymaster 3000 to keep an eye on your husband.(Ok the last one was made up,but ge the rest)
Some more stuff I thought of: When it comes to buying, don’t trust the sales women at the counter 100%. They work on commission and will try to sell u as much as possible(one of my closest friends worked for Clinique for 2 years and Channel for 5 months and she always would tell me all the stuff these women say once the customer leaves). If possible, take a friend or two with u when u go, and trust u’r friends opinion as to if a certain color looks good on u. Also, don’t rush anything. You don’t need to buy every single thing they show u right then and there. Cost for make-up can easily add up. What I personally do is I go to the counter, have the lady put on whatever I want…then walk around the mall doing other shopping, or just go home. I wait and see what the make-up looks like in natural light…the light they have in the dept. stores makes every color look good. If u walk around with the make-up at the mall or something, it also let’s u know how the make-up’s gonna look a few hours after(i.e. if it’s long lasting).
I would also check out web sites of different brands such as Clininique, Lancome, Este Lauder, Channel, M.A.C, Prescriptives etc. You can look at ALL the different kinds of products each offer, u can look at the colors, and also the prices. So before even walking in the mall, u have a good idea as to what u want, and how much it’ll cost.
A lot of sites out there have reviews on tons of different products. One such site is http://www.makeupalley.com. All u have to do is register(free) so use it. I always read the reviews on this site before buying anything. They also have message boards where u can ask q’s and get other users opinion on specific products and stuff. Neat site.
http://www.ivillage.com is also another great site for women. It has advice/article on every topic u can think of. If u go under their beauty section, u’ll see TONS of articles/reviews/advice on make-up, hair etc.
