true...harmed so many others in the process of settling scores with his buddy...i hope he will be locked up for the rest of his life. Toronto isn't as safe as it used to be when i came to Canada more than a decade ago. i hope the authorities will be tough in dealing with ALL the gangs.

As per today's news, this appears to be a personal beef. Both the victim and the shooter belonged to the same gang. I don't know how relevant this is, but Somali-Canadians have been lured by easy drug money in Alberta and have been moving from Toronto to Alberta. Officials are saying a lot of them are really naive and don't understand the nuances of the gang culture.

I agree. But when I said that, it was in reference to their expectations that they'll get in, make some quick bucks and then get out of the gangs.

The loser murderer wasn't Muslim. He's from Guyana and had gang ties as well. I'm not even going to bother posting his name because it's a waste of time and he doesn't need to be recognized.
I feel sorry for the parents of the victim. Another young Muslim gone.

Exactly! It was just as likely that the names could have been reversed.
Loss of life is tragic, senseless loss of life even more so, I'm just grateful that the bystanders weren't killed, being injured was bad enough. But as for the actual victim, don't want to say he brought it upon himself, but he did make some choices that led to what happened.

I never said he was innocent.
He's also a fool too.
But when it's someone from the Ummah, there is a sense of loss.
Again, just like that Pakistani guy that got into a car with the driver who was drinking and speeding and died.
It was a bad decision and something both of these parents have to live with for the rest of their lives.

Jeez, I never said I would go to their Janazah. Relax.
I don't remorse for him, but for his family. No matter how a child dies, it is still their child. And I feel for his mother, my Muslim Sister in Islam.
And it's not my problem if you people cannot sympathize.
I don't have sympathy for a drunk driver that dies, but sympathy for the parents.

My friend was right outside eaton center at dundas square and there was some concert happening and she said, she didn't even know shootings happened inside the mall until she checked her phone, had 12 messages from her family and peers inquiring if she is ok.
