I read it in a blog........... i say the same.......... she deserved it... adults, matured,engaging in life-changing events.................can't behave like that............if they do.......ther are repercussions.....i agree with those.

Okay first of all she was absolutely wrong and she should have said sorry right there and then.
And second wrong person is..groom here. To me divorcing in result of anger is wrong as well. He should have given her a chance to say sorry and clean up her act. Again, we all make mistakes utter bad words at times or say something to offend. But i personally think he should have given her a chance.

I think to good question to ask guppans would be: What if a man in this case uttered bad word to his mother in law right there. Would any girl divorce him?.

No one said anything about the most shocking part of the OP, cutting a wedding cake that is. Since when we started following American/Western way of wedding. Sorry to be a molvi here but a wedding that is going to start mimicking western culture is going to end in a similar fashion.

That was not a fatwa, just a general feeling of mine Mirch. I mean what is next, a kiss between groom and bride? a daddy daughter dance? Why cant we stick to our ways. If this incident was true then would it happen if there was no wedding cake to begin with?

Funny how a couple of the anti-divorce posters are supporting it in this case.. or is divorce only bad if it's the wife initiating it??

How is it that divorcing over a single swear word said once in anger is fine but a husband slapping his wife around or mistreating her and the answer is 'have sabr' and a million excuses are made..

It could have happened if MIL accidentally dropped kheer on brides dress at the kheer chata-e rasam.
It is not the cake or western mimicking which should be blamed it would be the bad manner and bad tempers which are at fault here.
For one bad incident where cake was present there are million happy endings where a cake was cut after all the other celebrations were over.

i saw many pappian in desi wedding videos on youtube. i think it is normal now a days. but this does not mean i m encouraging to kiss a bride in front of hundreds of people.
