Secondly, even if he isn’t selected how is it a grave injustice? Does SA have some “theka” with PCB that he will always be selected? You perform you get in, you don’t, you stay out.

Everyone has witnessed the Super Series, the guy was DROPPED after the ODI’s not by the so called PCB & Inzi mafia but by the World XI selectors. He couldn’t even bowl a decent 3 over spell, forget about playing the 5 day version of the game.

Everyone is out to get poor miskeen SA. His brilliance with the ball and passion to play for this home team is being wasted. Give me a break. I used to be the biggest SA fan, but defending his antics repeatedly gets difficult after a while…

I agree with u on the tekha thing, no one has taken anybody’s tekha, then again if u had been part of the discussion from the begining or made the effort to find out what is being discussed then things wud have not been that difficult to understand. After all, no one has tekha for anyone…

As for his performance in the recently concluded farcial series called super bloopers. Well, what do u hv to say for Inzi? Brian Lara? all those free loaders who had zilch contribution? WI board and selectors have reposed confidence in Lara, unlike our board and officials asking SA to prove his form and fitness.

A better gauge of his form will be the county matches. Do we all suffer from selective amnesia? DO u need to be reminded? Or is it that u r simply ignorant?

Consistency is the name of the game in International cricket. Which is why players like Ganguly, Hayden, etc. who have accomplished a lot more for their country than Shoaib can ever dream of, are sitting on the bench. You talk about Lara and Inzi, they might have failed in the Super Series but they have proven their worth to their side through consistent match winning performances time and again. Sadly the same can’t be said about SA.

Everyone from the coach to the board is desperate for Shoaib to perform, however, our fast bowling legend can’t take the time out to show up for training camp.

Oh well, it’s his life and all your blind support can’t the change the fact that he can barely bowl a 3 over spell. Probably a wicketless one at that.

If u were a SA supporter in the past then u wud hv not forgotten matches won single handidly by this player. He has’nt done anything in the last one year cause he has’nt been selected for Pakistan for one reason or the other.

One thing I will agree with u, if selected SA like any other player has to deliver for the simple reason these are paid professionals, its their job. If they cannot perform or someone else can do a better job, then they cannot expect to be selected.

Every now and then you hear from people that shoiab akhtar is a match winner. Thats why every one is despearte to give him a chance so he could prove his worth. Ever heard of Shane Bond and Chris Crains. They have fitness problem even before shoaib had his problems. Still their board and selectors always were behind these 2 players.
As far as missing a day of trainginn camp. If you have ever cared to follow a cricket series right from the start and I mean from the very start when the training camp starts, you must have seen that every time 2-3 players miss the first couple of days. Yes its not the right attitude. but the point is when some one else is doing it, its fine but when SA does, you would like to kill him. When inzi sets a perfect example by his attitude in superseries test, people come up with all kind of crap like he was upset because a younger person was captain and he was not. And remember the drama he did with afridi in Windies with younis khan when inzi was not even playing and younis sent afridi as an opener?
No one is comparing lara and inzi with shoaib. Again the ponit is that every one is bashing shoaib for a performance which was still better that pollock, kallis or Ntini in the super series or other players like sehwag, lara or dravid.
As far as blind support is concerned, the reason is the blind bashing. People start bashing him after a single spell. Did anyone appreaciate him for his performance in Afro Asia cup? If you can bash him than also learn to appreciate him when he deliver. How unrealistic it is when people start bashing some one after a single over or spell.
As far as players like gangu and hayden sitting on bench. Not all but some credit can be given to SA for that. If you remember how he treted hayden in the last Aussie Pak series. And I dont need to mention what SA use to do with ganguly. He was the who started targetting his rib cage.

Stop bickering guys. If he wants to play for Pakistan, he will come to practice and train. If he doesn't come, I will not be supporting his inclusion. Simple as that. The team comes first.

I never stated that he is bigger than the team :). I just think he can be very valuable if he has his mind set into winning games for the team. If he doen’t, even none of his supporters would back him. Common sense, Tully bhaijan .

Good news! Shoaib is getting back into rythem again and doing long spells in the conditioning camp. Only if he can deliver goods with the dead wickets like 2Ws used to. Sami and 3rd? bowler will have to assist him with their best. Rest will be taken care by the leggies inshallah. The Cobra balls that are selected for this series don't seem to support swing much. Sheer pace might get some early wickets on first two days.

not much can be gleaned from these articles except for the usual media blitz carried out to malign shoaib thru speculation without providing any evidence.

what is interesting to note is sa rushing from the airport directly to the stadium. If this guy was full of himself why show such urgency?
