I just want to make myself clear on the issue of Shoaib Akhtar. I have never denied his ability as a speedster. Heck, I even included him in my Pakistan's Best Ever Test team over Waqar and Sarfraz. My only beef with the Rawalpindi Express is over his attitude and commitment to the team for the long haul. Is he there willing to work as hard as others? Is he willing to earn his spot? Is he willing to understand that he is NOT the only match winner?

Captain1 bhai and other folks against Shoaib,
Its not that I like him or his attitude, lekin you have to concede he is the FASTEST, and a Crowd Pullerat that , and thats no small achievment, having said that he NEEDS and HAS and SAYS that he is willing to change for the better, and play as a team player, So now whats your beef with him???.
Come on guys you gotta give him a Fair chance (I MUST HAVE SAID THESE 2 WORDS ATLEAST A THOUSAND TIMES), Yakin mano if the Pakistani team performs as its been doingof late, and IF Shoaib can play as a Team Member, Iman se Pakistan could be a Class team with Credentials as good or better than Australia, and No Body could beat Pakistan as a easy push over, and that includes Australia.
Remember I said the same S**T when Younis was Incorporated in the team as VC, I was not happy, I but still insisted that he be given a fair chance!!!. Not only Younis, every Player who is selected, is selected on his merits, and merits can be judged by an AVERAGE not by one Result.

^ captain bhai, the report is from a 'staff reporter in Karachi'. This seems made up speculation than real reporting. I wouldn't pay any attention to such remors. It is not good for the team.

Aejaz bhai, I have never said Shoaib is slower than Razzaq 
, I do admire his bowling strength/capabilities and what he has achieved and also I have pointed out several times that it is his bigmouthing and insulting of team-mates, ex-greats which is the biggest turn-off for me. This guy is not a team player. After the world cup '03 his entry into team, we all thought he has changed but 3-6 months later it was same guy.
The only hope I have is that Shoaib had been treated like prince by likes of Tauqeer Zia but current PCB has shown this guy his place which might have put “some” sense into him. Only if he stops insulting his team-mates, be a team player and stops demanding treatment as a prince then I’ll stop opposing his inclusion.

To all Shoaib supporters:
Shoaib is a match winner no doubt and will go in any team of the world. I also have no doubt that he wants to do well, for himself and for Team Pakistan. He has regained fitness and should be in the team. No denial about that. There are very rare cricket sights from spectators point of view and Shoaib bowling at his best is one of them.
Having said that, You have to acknowledge the fact that he has to appreciate that Team is not because of him but its other way around. Straight after his return from Australia he said "It was me alone against them". He totally forgot to acknowledge the efforts of Danish Kaneria who ended up with more wickets than Shane warne did. Now you tell me what impact that comment should make on Kaneria and rest of the team mates? Is it giving them a positive vibe?
When Shoaib returned to the team after wc 2003 under Rashid Latif, he was at his best behaviuor and attitude. Even his trash interviews were at a minimum but all wnt down the drain since Inzimam took over. Inzimam can be accused of personal grudges but do you really think he is kind of individual who would not put his differences aside for Pakistan's cause?

The point abouit Kaneria, I do agree with that. The second point about Inzi, why don’t you tell Inzi what you stated. Shoaib will always fight for the country.

I don't think anyone has a problem with him having as much booty as he can handle, as long as he delivers the right kind of booty on the field. Imran Khan is a perfect example.
Shoaib's victim attitude really gets him no where. He is the one who gets unfit at the drop of a hat. His loud mouth won't be so unbearable if he can deliver even half of it on the field with any degree of consistency. Afridi also spoke of winning atleast one ODI in India on his personal effort, and did it. Even if he had not done it, we can see he was giving his 100% to the team anyway.

I have a problem if he is getting booty on tour. Being on tour means you are working. And during work hours, no booty is allowed. He can get all the booty he wants when in Pindi. You see, to get booty he has to go out late at night...because the booty you get during day light is not on the fly. That is more of a permanent booty. So, if he goes late at night, it doesn't set a good example for the rest of the team who are playing cards in the lobby or watching CNN in their rooms.
I say no booty when on tour. After tour, all the booty he wants.

And I have heard from reliable sources that he has a habit of drinking OPENLY. That could piss off a lot of teammates. I know it's his personal thing but still, I am sure he is seen as an odd ball and a distractor.
