MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan’s remarks on the Indian Premier League snub to Pakistani cricketers has enraged Shiv Sena.
The party on Friday said that the actor’s upcoming film My name is Khan will not be allowed to be screened. Sena workers tore down his film’s posters in Thane.
Earlier, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut on Thursday said that Shah Rukh’s response in the row had a lot to do with his religion.
“This is not Shah Rukh, but the Khan in him that’s saying all this. Let Shah Rukh go and stay in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad. He is not needed in Mumbai. Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb has made it clear that Pakistani players wouldn’t be allowed to play in the IPL or set foot in Maharashtra,” Raut said.
“If there is an issue with any other country I think it can be resolved in a friendly and nicer manner,” Khan said after the IPL snub to Pakistani players.
How the hell India claims to be the world's biggest democracy when it's citizens can't even speak their minds without being threatened of expulsion and get questioned of their religion?
Not surprised that Shiv Sena are again jumping up and down
Correct me if I am wrong but Shahrukh said something like....'Yes there are issues between our two countries, we blame them every day and they blame us every day but even if we did not want Pakistani players to play in IPL, we could have done so in a more respectful manner'....now what is wrong with this?
SRK then went on to say....'I personally felt humiliated because my father (and his side of the family all) hail from Pakistan.....this is probably what's bugging Shiv Sena!
but what's so wrong with even this statement? Are you not allowed to speak your mind in 'secular' India.
Shahrukh's example clearly illustrates that no matter how much you become rich or successful as a muslim, you still cannot freely express your views (however thoughtful or considerate) in public....your loyalty to the state will always be questioned by hardliners if you say anything that does not match their line of thinking

That is democracy ... i dont have to agree with him .. i just need to protect his right to speak ... so that he doesn't have to go to London and say it from there :D

Well i am sure Altaf bahi's comments warm your heart ... for me i am happy that he was able to make the statement ... sitting in India on national television !!!!
