I should have made this thread sooner. About a year ago I purchased this:
mainly because I was getting married and I desperately wanted even toned skin. I have dark circles (hereditary), plus 3-4 years ago I got my face waxed (didn’t even have much hair on my face, still don’t was just extremely stupid and would advice people not to do it). After getting my face waxed, the dumb salon lady gave me some anti-allergy pills and I went home and put an ice pack everywhere so I won’t have any swelling. Anyway, I ended up breaking out on either side of my face, that went on for motnhs and finally it cleared out but left 2 dark spots on either side of my face.
For the longest time I didn’t care much for it but then came around my wedding time and I figured that I would try this product. I used it for 2 months prior to my wedding and I can say it was one of the best purchases I ever made. I could really see my face skin looking and feeling refreshed, brighter, more even. (Disclaimer: I was also drinking a lot of water and fresh squeezed juices and feel that definitely helped a lot as well).
It’s been 8 months since my wedding and I still use these products. About 2 weeks ago however, I started using Shiseido’s White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum. Sephora: Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum: Skin Lighteners
I only put it on the two dark spots that were caused by the face wax. The results are unbelievable! One spot was lighter than the other and that one you barely see anymore. The other spot has definitely reduced in appearance. I have only been using it for two weeks!
I made this thread because I have seen girls talking about those whitening/brightening pakistani creams and have heard Gina along with many other girls mention that you do not wanna use them! This is definitely not like one of those creams.
P.S. 2 weeks ago when I went to sephora, I actually just got a sample of the brightening serum cuz its a bit pricey and i didnt want to buy soemthing expensive that wouldnt work. So for the first time ever i asked the sales assistant to get me a sample of the serum and that sample is still going strong! So those of you who are really interested in this and have a sephora nearby I would say get the $50 starting kit (it’s a very good value) and get a sample of the concentrated brightening serum.
Also, if you have dry skin, you will have to use a night cream or some serum at night for extra hydration because the purpose of this line is brightening, not moisturizing/hydrating.
Lastly, I got results from using the whole skincare line, which includes, cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer. hope this helps and good luck!
