Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

I should have made this thread sooner. About a year ago I purchased this:

Sephora: Shiseido Skincare 1 2 3 - White Lucent Brightening Eclaircissant ($72 Value): Gift Ideas & Sets

mainly because I was getting married and I desperately wanted even toned skin. I have dark circles (hereditary), plus 3-4 years ago I got my face waxed (didn’t even have much hair on my face, still don’t was just extremely stupid and would advice people not to do it). After getting my face waxed, the dumb salon lady gave me some anti-allergy pills and I went home and put an ice pack everywhere so I won’t have any swelling. Anyway, I ended up breaking out on either side of my face, that went on for motnhs and finally it cleared out but left 2 dark spots on either side of my face.

For the longest time I didn’t care much for it but then came around my wedding time and I figured that I would try this product. I used it for 2 months prior to my wedding and I can say it was one of the best purchases I ever made. I could really see my face skin looking and feeling refreshed, brighter, more even. (Disclaimer: I was also drinking a lot of water and fresh squeezed juices and feel that definitely helped a lot as well).

It’s been 8 months since my wedding and I still use these products. About 2 weeks ago however, I started using Shiseido’s White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum. Sephora: Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum: Skin Lighteners

I only put it on the two dark spots that were caused by the face wax. The results are unbelievable! One spot was lighter than the other and that one you barely see anymore. The other spot has definitely reduced in appearance. I have only been using it for two weeks!

I made this thread because I have seen girls talking about those whitening/brightening pakistani creams and have heard Gina along with many other girls mention that you do not wanna use them! This is definitely not like one of those creams.

P.S. 2 weeks ago when I went to sephora, I actually just got a sample of the brightening serum cuz its a bit pricey and i didnt want to buy soemthing expensive that wouldnt work. So for the first time ever i asked the sales assistant to get me a sample of the serum and that sample is still going strong! So those of you who are really interested in this and have a sephora nearby I would say get the $50 starting kit (it’s a very good value) and get a sample of the concentrated brightening serum.

Also, if you have dry skin, you will have to use a night cream or some serum at night for extra hydration because the purpose of this line is brightening, not moisturizing/hydrating.

Lastly, I got results from using the whole skincare line, which includes, cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer. hope this helps and good luck!

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Thanks for the info, sumo! I have been looking for a good skincare line forever! I tried Clinique and wasn't too impressed. It's too mild. And since last year, I've also had some discolouration on my left cheek right near my jawline and used Neostrata for it but didn't see much difference. My Clinique cleanser just finished so I am going to go buy this now!! :)

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Do they also have an eye cream for dark circles?

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

I have heard of this, one sales lady said, who was married to an japanese, its very popular amoung the japanese females as they too want to look fair like us desis. Will now go and try it out, I have been delaying it for sometime now. :)

ps. I have used the normal (green) shiseido set and saw great improvement of my skin but then I switched to Clinique, that is finishing soon, so I will now switch back to this one, Thanks.

Yeh they do. I haven't tried it though cuz my dark circles are hereditary and nothing makes them go away.

oh i love shiseido!
i only used the concentrated brightening serum and i loved it
but i was using it in conjunction with another product too....
I used it around my engagement period and everyone told me i was glowing lol...
Now that you reminded me I think im going to try their whole skin care line
i had been thinking about it for a while but never got around to it
thanks sumorani!

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

I agree with sumorani - the white lucent line is really great. The daily cream also gives you a bit of a glow and has spf 15.

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Sumo...it's possible that you had an allergic reaction to the wax that the beautician applied to your face. However, if you are still waxing your face, keep in mind that wax removes the top layer of skin. Because of this, waxing makes your skin even more sensitive to the sun....and if you're not wearing sunblock, you risk getting dark patches or what is known as hyperpigmentation. So as a precaution, after waxing, apply a good sunscreen 15-30 minutes prior to going out in the sun.

The shisiedo product sounds interesting, I'm going to check it out :)

August, a dermatologist would be the person to consult for skin discoloration also known as hyperpigmentation. It is usually treated with products containing hydroquinone, which is an ingredient that fades out dark spots/discoloration. Most of the commercial products will contain about 2% hydroquinone. Since this concentration is not strong enough, it takes longer to see results. Dermatologists have products containing twice the concentration of hydroquinone. Other treatments that a derm might suggest include chemical peels or even laser.

I've dealt with discoloration as well. And while there are many products available in stores, my recommendation is that you consult a derm if you want to get faster results.

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

That was the first and last time I got it waxed. I really don't see the point of going thru all that hassle unless u have excessive hair growth.

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Sumorani..I can totally relate to your waxing experience. I was going to my sisters wedding in December 2008 and went to get my eyebrows done the day before the flight to Karachi..Somehow the lady convinced me to wax my face. I dont even have like any hair on my face. Anyways, she did...and told me to put aloe or ice on my face once I get home....it did such horrible things to my skin...tat it was ridiculous. When I got to karachi..i guess because of all the pollution..it really took a toll on my face. When I touched my face..it was a gallore of small teeny tiny bumps all over my face..like not one spot without those small white pimples..I had a horrible break out. I think it took atleast one year for my skin to completely heal from that. I still don't think my skin's the same as it used to be..because it disrupts the natural function of your skin...
So yeah, if you have sensitive skin..think before you get waxing done on your face. I even avoid threading because if I get my eyebrows done..I get little bumps around that area for atleast 2 weeks.

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Would this work for dark circles?

Re: Shiseido’s White Lucent Skincare Line

I went to Sephora and they gave me the measliest sample EVER :naraz:

Re: Shiseido’s White Lucent Skincare Line

seems like a good product, i really want it to work for me but i went to makeupalley to read reviews of that products and ppl have given very low reviews. i wonder if this product work better on desi skin maybe?
here is the link to read the reviews on makeup alley

Omg that's horrible! I just wish someone had forced me to not get my face waxed. I will always advise people to choose another option.

They have another product in the white lucent line just for dark circles. I haven’t used it.

Awww that sucks. Let’s go yell at her!

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line

Is it safe for oily/sensitive skin?

Re: Shiseido's White Lucent Skincare Line
