Today I was reading TLK’s blog and its true that there is shirk in naats. Its sad because sometime we like naat so much but we don’t understand the meaning of it.Like this naat “Tera karam hai aqaa ke baat ab tak bani hoii hai” is a naat I used to think its a hamd until oneday my hubz told me that it is for Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) I use to like “na kaleem kaa tassawur naa kayaal-e- toor-e-sina” there is a sentence in it “mein ne kaha ke almadad mohammad, to ubhar gaya Safina (meaning ship)” what does this mean ke Prophet Mohammad(p.b.u.h.) will come and save the drowning ship?Well I use to listen naats but now I am afraid that if I am listening to naats am I listening shirk? :aq:And these naats comes from barelvi tabqaa
Re: Shirk in Naats
not just naats, but also many daroods u will see are filled with shirks :( i.e. Darood-e-Taj
honestly u really have to use ur wisdom and knowledge in order to follow Islam. its not an easy job
and dont just blindly follow what u have been told.
That is true Zobia:(
I heard a great deal about Darood-e-tanjeena but I think only darood-e-Ibrahimi is the best.
Re: Shirk in Naats
Zobia, youknow I was just going through this Punj Surah Shareef book that I have and it has a whole bunch of duroods that seem quite like shirk so I always questioned their authenticity. I guess it's safer just to stick to simple duroods like durood e Ibrahim and simple duas from the Qur'an such the rabbana duas.

ab parain ge jootay UZ pe chaaroN taraf se, for opening this thread :p
Re: Shirk in Naats
The prophet (saw) himself advised us not to worship him and that only Allah (swt) can fulfill all our desires. I guess we humans get carried away. Have love for the Prophet (saw) and follow his sunnah but worship only Allah.

Nicely said Nikki that we should have love for Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) but we should only worship one ALLAh.
