Shipping from Pakistan

I’m seeking information about shipping parcels from Pakistan to mainland Europe.

My cousin is designing a couple of outfits for me and will be sending them from Karachi to The Netherlands, through a parcel/express service.
Can any of the designers here tell me which delivery service they use and have good experience with? (TCS, DHL etc).

Thanks a lot in advance!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

I use Pakistan Post services (international speed post). they take upto 10 days at times to deliver but they have been reliable till now (touchwood). there are good packages by DHL and OCS from karachi i heard (for big boxes like 5 kg and above) . you can ask relatives to go around and get some info on those first.

Hi Shinoo,

Even I am located in the Netherlands. Parcels are quite pricey if you want them delivered through DHL.

I recently received a parcel of outfits myself.

How heavy is your parcel?

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

Thanks a lot Prototype :-)
Could you give a rough indication how much it would cost to have like 6 suits shipped through Pakistan Post (to Europe). I have no idea how much a suit weighs approx. :-/

Hi fellow dutchie :D

I have no idea how heavy it'll be. I mean I have like 6 suits from which one is a gharara, a sari, shalwaar kameez, anarkalli with medium to heavy work on it.
I know DHL is pretty expensive but reliable. I guess I'm just looking for more options!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

shinoo... my mom recently sent me a 10 kg parcel (was more of a sack :D ) with i think 6 linen suits and loads of things for the baby... it cost her only 3000 rupees.. this was thru regular pakistan post. i got it in 7 days.

dhl is way too expensive and not necesary.. just have the person pack the parcel themselves in a thick shopping bag... the ppl at the post will wrap it in cloth parcel and seal it with wax.

i didnt think regular pakistani post would be reliable as i have alwasys used dhl for my parcel needs... but everyone here uses the pakistani post service and have been doing so forever... so i tried it for the first time and was amzed at receiving everything in good condition and WITHIN A WEEK.. even though it was not speed post :o

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

^Wow khawa! 10 kg for just Rs 3000!
That’s great  I’ll ask my cousin to fill the package up to 10kg

It doesn’t matter if it takes a week or longer as long as it gets here!

Thanks for the info :flower1:

DHL is certainly reliable, I got my parcel within 4 days. Once I received it through DHL and once through SKY net.
Like you describe it, sounds quite heavy. Is there no family or family friend coming from Pakistan who can bring it for you?

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

Khawateen, where did she parcel it to ? (You also located in Mainland Europe?)

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

my relatives send me packages through pakistan post too. never had any problems with them yet. they have a website too. google it :)

What about tax ? did you pay tax on it? I am waiting for a parcel from pakistan (sent by prototype) and dont know how long it will take ,been already more than 8-9 days .

She's located in Denmark (a 'small' pind just like Holland :D )

Thanks for the information guys! I'll ask my cousin to ask around @ Pakistan post and ask for prices @ DHL (4 days is super fast!)

Actually my parents are currently in Pakistan. My mum is already bringing back casual and semi formal wear for me. This package however is for a wedding in August and the clothes haven't been designed/stitched yet.
I'm fine with parcels, even if it's costing me a bunch of money. I just want it to get here without problems!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

Yah, got loads of family in Denmark.Just like our own Holland.

Wedding......... yay!! Loads of weddings coming up in July and August, right Shinoo?
I brought my ´stock´just 2 weeks ago from Pakistan.

Hey, I just checked the website of Pakistan Post... My god that is sooo cheap!!!

Anyways, I am just like you.... I rather have it here fast and secure... than cheap and wait for ages!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

^Yeah I also checked PP website. Seems like people here have had good experiences so I think I'll give it a try!

Yayyy I love weddings. The one in August is my sister-in-law's wedding and I'm getting her mehndi jora designed! Also need a couple of suits for myself :-)
I really just want to hop on a plane and get everything myself but unfortunately I don't see that happening this yr :-(
Hurray for parcel services and lovely cousins with designing skills!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

3000 ruppees for 10kg! Wow I wish I had heard of Pakistan Post before!! Last Eid when relatives sent some clothes for us I think it cost about $70 for the FedEx or DHL whichever one it was :smack:

My cousins in Norway have good experience with Pakistan Post too. They often receive parcels with clothes within 2 weeks time. So all good...

Last year August there was this wedding wave in Holland. Had to attend 4 weddings in 10 days time.... So you can imagine... The need for new outfit was high, and so was the need for the parcel to be here. So I got them all through DHL.

I love designing myself, and even I would want to spend my time going back and forth picking outfits for eveyone and style them. But if you have good contacts in Pakistan, you can explain them what you want in terms of style, design, amount of kaam and sort of kaam, color combination and it works well. At least, it worked out for me!

Just heard about this family friend´s son who is getting married in summer and another girl I know is getting married in July. I brought my stock just 2 weeks ago from Pakistan.... so all settled for the summer!!!

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

are you sure about 3000rs for 10kg?i sent one to mehroo last week.it was under 500gms and it went for 1590rs.1 kg was for 1890rs :konfused:

Re: Shipping from Pakistan

I also recieved some lawn suits and some other stuff (maybe 3-4 kilos) with the pakistani post and it got here in 2 weeks and I think it cost around 3500 Rs, which is cheap!
