I do not understand this Karamaat stuff that our moulanas throw out left, rigth and centre all the time.
As if if one becomes a good muslims he will become great magician, doing wonderful tricks all the time. And many times in heat of Karamaat description the story looses all sense of religion, morality or esthetics.
For instance someone was saying about a saint that he is so "sahib-e-nazar" that once he looked at a dog and dog became so "sahib-e-kamaal" that all dogs of the city sat around this dog and did a "muraaqba".
Another person describibg Karamaat of Ali ra that when Rasoolullaah saw went to heaven riding on "Burraaq" he was "astonished" to see that Ali ra was already there on 7th heaven.
agreeed
^^ You dont have to believe the karaamat aspect. But the fact that he was an aalim and wali remains
then why ppl attach that karaamt aspect with the aalims n wali? Its just like hindu thinkin that they need a physical God infront to believe there is a God existing to be worshipped. If that aalim didnt have such karaamat, wouldn't ppl still believe he is the gr8 scholar?
p.s n is that chicken story true about Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gillani??

it's very simple but only people who understand the concept of "Tareeqat" will know what I am going to say....
With the same token, and perhaps with the same logic, we can go ahead and ask why were "Miracles" given to Prophets as well? Its just like hindu thinkin that they need a physical God infront to believe there is a God existing to be worshipped. But we do not say that because we know that miracles are nothing but given by Allah himself... and that's because they are the people Allah chose to propagate His religion among the people.
Prophet (SAW) was very clear saying that Wali of this Ummah are like Anbiya of Bani Israel except that Anbiya (AS) received Wahi and Walies do not....
great scholar, huge services to Islam, especially in setting the trends for giving wa'z and establishing tawheed....
unfortunately those who claim to be his followers go against his teachings....
and i wonder what the muslims of indo-pak will do, being kattar hanafis, when they know that he was a strict hanbali....
He was a Hanafi at first, and became a Hanbali when Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal came into his dream and asked him to follow the Hambali school of jurisprudence because he feared that his school would be extinct.

Evilmastermind...not like logivcal and philosophical debates...about Tareeqat..neither i have enough knowledge about all this stuff...just in simple words ...
and Tareeqat means batni..means ..spirtual aspect of deeds....
namaz ..with purity of heart and mind....
roza...which produces ..taqwa ..not ...just bhook hartal...:)
zakaat..which means ..helping poor intention s..not wah wah purpose..
hajj and umra..to reduce the sins...not Dubai ARY ne gold sets ...and shopping ...
jihad.for allah..not medals ..and popularity...
means .tareeqat is the real soul of every ibaadat....
if ibaadat is the criteria...then Iblees was the greatest ibaadat guzzar of Allah ..but when he showed arrogance the heart diseases..all his ibadats ...thrown out....
Simlarly/..doing whole night nafal..but with Riya kari..are just waste ....
Tareeqat ..reduces the ...heart diseases of keena...gheebat....arrogance...proud...riya kari...etc etc..which is the essence of every ibadat..and without it every ibadat is just ...hollow...empty...wasteful..etc etc..
Its not look nice …to give a image of making fun ..of great aulias of this ummah…remeber ..they are the friends of Allah…as in Quran…and we must be beware of talking about them ..like that…
here i think is another mashoor story of the sheikh ( or i might be mistaken and could be someone totally dif)
That the sheikh was in the desert praying (and doing whatever these people do) that the Shaitaan came to him and in a final act of desperation to move him from right path came to him in the shape of a holy man or summin and told him that Allah SWT was so happy with his prayers and his devotion that he need not say his salaat anymore!
The Sheikh concluded that even Prophets were not excluded from salaat and hence this must be a trick of the Shaitaan!
the incident goes on..whenshaitan heard that..he said..you came out of my trap y your piousness...Sh abdul qadir at once shouted...O laeen..you are liar.. i came out of this by only Allah's blessings....
and shaitan ran weeping that..you also blunted my greatest weapon of arogance ...

Oh God! This is too much to comprehend, really.

I agree that one shouldnt make fun of out teachers n scholars but please do tell me that who is this aalim to whom we r giving more respect than Prophet (pbuh) - pardon my ignorance, I neevr heard of him.
He was a Hanafi at first, and became a Hanbali when Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal came into his dream and asked him to follow the Hambali school of jurisprudence because he feared that his school would be extinct.
I am confused, I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
