Since im having a smoke right now i though i might as well make a thread on it…
Anyone want to submit any tips or experiences feel free…
As for myself…i mistook it for a weed bong at Abu Alis when i was 15. I was sooo confused…Six years on im still smoking…My favourite flavour is orange and you will always see me at Sheeshawi the green place in Edgeware Rd oe Marrakech in Piccadilly…those places are live…
But i got my own at home now so i can smoke for free…Oh yeah as for tips for those who want a thicker smoke…put milk instead of water and trust me you will see the difference…
Abu Ali's sucks. I used to be a regular at the green lights place, then moved to Cafe du Liban. Finally the week before I moved out of the UK I discovered a small place just off Edgeware Rd that I can't remember but which did freaking great flavours like coconut.
Bad news for the Canadians (unless u have sheesha at home). New law passed, restricting smoking anywhere (except in your homes and outside). So.. alladins and all these places r goin down.. :(
hookah and sheesha are two different things
in sheesha, the tobacco doesn't burn.
in hookah, u have a pot filled with charcoal and tobacco, lit on fire.
With new public smoking laws in the UK theres worry that sheesha joints might be in danger...but fortunately it looks ok for the minute cos the argument is that sheesha joints are specifically there for people to smoke so those who dont smoke shouldnt enter these establishments...
I have never tried. What is the benefit of sheesha? Is it more of a socializing thing like hanging out in a coffeeshop? Or is there something else like smoking?
I had no idea that Hookah and Sheesha are 2 different things! And Sheesha is tobaccoless? interesting ... I've gone to a couple of these places but they were smokey and haven't gone back.
Anyone know if Prince in Georgetown (DC) is Hookah or Sheesha?
anyway, jokes aside.... nader roti shop right at dundas+hwy10, mehlaat-ul-qudoos @ fairview+hwy10 (2 blocks north of aladdin), then there is chase+eglinton (1block west of mississauga rd+eglinton (mona fine foods)
these three are my regular ones...please share yours within peel region please..
Something i found out recently. When purchasing a sheesha, make sure the main upper body (including the vertical pipe that goes all the way down into the water) is a washable one. If you get just any metallic one, after a few washes it will start to rust. That rust will show up in the water in the bong as a brownish colour and worst of all it will just kill the taste of the sheesha.
Also the pipe itself can make or break the sheesha. The wider the inner diameter of the pipe the better. More suction = more taste.
The quick lighting bricks of coal are more hazardous to health. They have a substance added to them to get them to light up real fast but then that substance is bad to inhale.
Mix up your flavours. Try different variations. Get creative. Dont put in more than 3 flavours at one time because then it'll all taste the same fruit punch. My all-time favourite is grape and mint. Another good one that i had at alladin once is raspberry and ginseng.. but these flavours are so very rare i can never find them anywhere. Kiwi is another winner.
If you know anybody in Detroit, MI or if you ever happen to go there, get your flavoured tobacco from there. Stuff that costs $30 here in mississauga/toronto you can get for $10 from there. And theres tons of variety there.
its cool u're doing the tobacco-free ones. but isnt it disgusting to be sharing a mouthpiece everyone has put their mouths on? i mean who knows where their mouths have been? and how many diseases they carry in there. :(
Shweetz, if you ask the restaurant they'll give you additional mouthpieces. Or you can do what I do and hold the mothpiece in such a way that your lips touch your fingers and not the mouthpiece itself...
