heard MIL on the phone to her daughter calling me moti and saying how i cant cook and literally just taking the p$$ out of me.

so tell me i should be making tea for this woman? i need to show her up to her son. how?

she also went thru my cupboard said she “was tidying it up looking fr my daughters clothes” and i found my clothes all “organised” and my jewellery set necklace broken. husband told me nkt to confront her leave it. he fixed the necklace for me. that woman is making my spit venom rite now.
tell me i have t easy?

See, there’s the difference between American and Pakistani families: in America, the husband will always choose the wife over the mother, because the wife will be there long after his mother is gone. She is his present and future, while the parents are the past and present.

Um, actually in America…Pakistani couples usually end up divorcing because of the in-laws as well. The MILs here do not straighten themselves out after drinking American water…if anything they try to sink in their claws a little deeper. Because “hayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye…mein bilkul akeli hojaungi” or the famous “bivi kya agayi…amma ko to bilkul bhool gaya”. I don’t think I know anybody that hasn’t used the last one.

Indeed! MANY! But not because they chose their Mommas instead. Marriages fail for many reasons.

Sure they do…but that is a global problem. The MIL issue is in Pakistani blood…doesn’t matter if its America or Pakistan…The Saas doesn’t go anywhere. She’s always there…staring, judging, whispering in her son’s ears about how evil his wife is…even though she picked her out herself. Okay I admit…I’ve been watching some Pakistani dramas lately…lol.
