Shaving The Beard:

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Do you like beards? Does your husband have a beard? :hoonh:

Re: Shaving The Beard:

I have known enough women to realize this simple fact.

As for beards themselves, they are recommended but not required

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Jews do grow beards... And in fact, so do many of the mushrikeen... Osama bin Laden has a beard, and I really dont want to be associated with him...
So if thats the only reason for growing beards, then we should shave them off so we dont look like the other beard wearers, Jews, Mushrikeen etc.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

^^ or sikhs

Re: Shaving The Beard:

hardly i am here reading to both sides, thus far you have failed to come up with any reference or religious source. shrugs i havent laid my two cents about beard and when i do they would be just that my thoughts not proofs.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Anyone who says beard is not a sunnat, or makes fun of beard is a kafir according to all 4 madhabs.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Charming... where did you get this delightful piece of info khanbabax?

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Peace Light Bearer

I am loathe to taking to your post a stance in retrograding demeanour , but in all this here thread you have caught my attention.

It seems you are emanating a sense majestic with regards to being secular albeit very much so. I cannot for the life of me see how a religion has a right. People on the other hand are all equal but we needn't have secular ethics tell us that. Islam is the only order on the Earth that includes within it doctrine that supports the notion that all humans are equal in the laws of humanity and even that non-Muslims may enter Jannah. The holy Qur'an addresses humanity with the magnificient phrase, Ya ayuhal insaan!

And yet here you are extreme in secularism claiming 'equal rights for religions' but give no regard to what their scripture says. Are they therefore all equally of no regard to you?

And yes Muslims believe in the equality of humanity the fallacy is that you allege it is not so and that you seem to believe secular ethics has in some way originated these ideas or at least pioneered them.

As for the impersonation >> well seemed to hit a nerve, I think we should all take your advice and let you 'play yourself'.

As for the rest of us who would prefer to BE ourselves. It is a TRUISM that today Muslim men are associated with the shari' beard. It is such a profound symbol that anywhere you go you will see such association. It becomes that much more of an important thing that Muslims should contemplate on, that by being instantly recognisable we should try our level best to be effective da'i. Our beards say we are Muslim, but our actions, if bad, will say 'Muslims are bad' if they are good actions, then the reverse will be prevalent.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Making fun of any shair of Islam, be it sunnah, fardh etc is kufar. To Make some because of his beard is also kufar.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Growing beard is wajib according to 4 schools of thought, and shaving it haram.

You don't have to look like Usama bin Laden.....you look fine with your Bush look, it suits your mind and personality.

Sikhs don't trim thier moustache either my hardcore sunni muslim brother.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Actually he has given a reference of the women he knows.:cb: …mercenary2k, I want to ask you if those women are also hardcore sunni muslim like you?

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Terriffic... so if someone disagrees with you, than let's laugh at him call him a kaffir and make fun of his Imaan.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Kaafir means the one who rejects. if someone openly rejects Quran or Sunnah then he/she is doing the kuffar.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Kaafir also means reject in the normal language but exact meaning comes from the word Kaffara/Kuffara that exactly means covering someting temporarily.

This is because the truth is permanent but lies is temporary.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

beard is at best a sunnah and sunnah is not farz.
case closed.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

niether do most muslims with beards..

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Then they should.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

Even if it was sunnah, still kufar to make fun of it.

With all due respect, to keep a beard is wajib in all 4 madhabs of Sunni Islam.

Re: Shaving The Beard:

sunnah wajib madhab..

its not farz in Islam. fullstop.

madhabs can go ahead and call it wajib, but the guys who formed the madhab are nither God nor the prophet.

if it was a farz it would have been stated as such.

its a sunnah at best, someone wants to do it sure, do it, if you dont, your business.

PS: Kuffar in that era had beards as well, why would they make fun of it. :)

Re: Shaving The Beard:

yeah they should, and they should do a lot of other things. beard is like way down on the priority scale.

imaan is nto pukhta, faraiz are being ignored, but sunnah poori karni zaroori hai.
