Re: Shaving The Beard:
Beards are very common these days amont the mushrikin. At the time of Muhammed, apparently not. That's probably why he ordered his companions to grow a beard since he had no idea of facial hair fashions 1400 years in the future.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ and Jews don't grow beards?
Yes they do but they don't trim their moustache...

I haven't seen a single mushrik or non muslim with muslim beard.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ then why do Pakistanis do the opposite?
why do they grow mustache but not a beard
Re: Shaving The Beard:
misleading thread title I thought ppl would be discussing how tos. best razors, discussions about diff shaving cremes and the beenfit of silver tipped badger brush versus others.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
I mean whats the point of growing a beard ?
Women like guys who don't have facial hair
Re: Shaving The Beard:
Women like guys who don't have facial hair
did you mean
women-like-guys who dont have facial hair? :D
Re: Shaving The Beard:
thus by that decree attraction between men and women are litmus test for any ruling to be islamic or unislamic. and you had an aitraz on poster.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ why not?
this is just one positive aspect of not growing a beard
Re: Shaving The Beard:
might be positive to you but that is not religious reasoning, no?
Re: Shaving The Beard:
I can see some (a bit, not a lot) sense in the infection and protection arguements. Similarly there's some sense in using beards w.o mustache as a distinguishing mark (again, a bit, not a whole lot). All 3 ofcourse are no longer valid as reasons. On the flip side If religion is to be used for such silly matters to dictate to people and that too to make them do senseless things, it is usurpation of religion by those who say religion wants you to do this and that.Todate nobody has shown me any proof that says all words of the Holy Quron must be followed verbatim. I find it incredible that such a book of global wisdom will not have made provisions for adopting to changes, progress in human thought and circumstances.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ i have already proved that there is no religious reasoning behind beards
it was an Arab Custom which Prophet Muhammed practiced brought on by geographical realities of living in Arabia in the 6th Century.

people in europe around the 6th and 7th Century shaved their beards because during winter, their beards would freeze....
Re: Shaving The Beard:
Theres a lot of BS on this thread...
I fail to understand why some people bother posting in the Religion forum...
The idea here is that there is a prerequisite that we judge by Quran and Sunnah on this topic...so if you have an argument with what the poster wrote then tackle his evidences with evidences from ISLAM...not from your own rationale...because that has nothing to do with religion just your own preferences which have nothing to do with Islam...
I assumed the thread would deviate between some suggesting it is Wajib and some suggesting it is a Mandubat...what i dont see the point of on a thread directed at people who judge by Islam to start discussing whether we should judge by Islam or not...
Its about 'Islam says'...not 'I think' when discussing religious principles...
If you want to discuss the rationale behind beards then discuss it in another section...
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ what is your opinion on the matter
Re: Shaving The Beard:
My personal opinion is of no relevance cso we're discussing an Islamic issue and whether it is an obligation from God...
If we're discussing whether somethings an obligation from God then we judge it from Allahs text isnt it?...
If we simply base everything on our own likes and dislikes then we're playing God and creating our own religion...
The Quran and hadeeth are our guide for how we discuss Islamic issues and iv heard different people say based on evidence that it is either Wajib or it a recommendable action...
If i wanted to i could easily come up with rational arguments against a lot of things from Islam but the fact is Allah knows best...i am a limited human being and by being Muslim means i submit to God and take everything in his text as correct...
If i start using my own ration i might aswell start up my own religion...
Re: Shaving The Beard:
If anyone takes their religion from mercenery2k, then they are doomed. :D
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ they should take it from the Quran
Re: Shaving The Beard:

Do you follow Pakistanis instead of following Quran and Sunnah? And how can you say that women don't like beards? You're not a woman Mr wiki.
Re: Shaving The Beard:
thank you NbN . it is pretty simple m2k, your or mine rationale are not the criteria or the requirement here. tsk what a shame, its so common to become a cleric out of bean bag, how is this mentality any different to our average mulla in masjid who without any religious study or references teaches his version of the religion? basically you are just missing a beard :D Irony!
Re: Shaving The Beard:
^^ and neither are you....
