Why cant the nation just accept Islamic Shariah as the supreme law of the land ?
Why do we have to cause so much bloodshed and chaos…when we know that what they’re demanding is nothing but the Shariah…something thats prescribed upon us by the Quran.
Given that the Taliban are ruthless at times…why cant we have respected scholars like Taqi Usmani and his peers who would head the Shariah implementation committee.

You cannot impose your version of sharia on gunpoint. If you want sharia to be imposed, do it democratically, under the constitution of Pakistan. You participate in elections, win elections, form your government and establish your version of sharia.
This is absolute ghunda ghardi.
BTW: I thought Paksitan is ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN and 1973 constitution was approved and accepted by all religious and political parties of that time.

Read and you shall learn. Just cause you were born to a Muslim family does not give you the right to pass judgement on Islam, its Sharia law and the principles (fiqh) that the Sharia is based on.

So then tell me which brand of sharia do you want to impose? Sunni sharia? brailvi sharia? shia sharia? wahabi sharia? taliban sharia, as you can't expect a true "Islamic Sharia" from these moulvis anyway. We have 72 different secs in the country. You cannot run a country where laws are interpreted differently by every tom, dick and harry. And you can't bring all leaders of different sects to come to agree on a single point.
BTW: Haven't you heard Sufi Muhammad that if you don't agree with his version of Islam, you are not Muslim? And you want their sharia to be imposed where majority of Pakistanis according to him are non-muslim because they don't believe in his ideology?

Pakistan is a country and it has obligations to protect it's citizens irrespective of which sect or religion they belong to. You can't grab a person walking on a street and put him in a jail because according to your sharia law, everyone has to have beard. Or you can't flog a girl playing with her doll, because according to your sharia, dolls are forbidden.

What these criminals are demanding is everything else but Shariah. Let's take the case of women education which is endorsed by the Holy Prophet himself. They are against it and hence against the teaching of the prophet. They have created fitna in this country and there is clear direction in Islam how to tackle fitna.
These criminals are not only ruthless but are barbaric. They must be punished for the heinous crimes they have already committed.

Which version? Shia/Sunni or Taliban version? How many people here know that many of these people cant even read or write? Do you know Mullah Omar uses thumb print & only thing he knows how to read is Quran? Is this is the version of Sharia you want?
Get a reality check. NWFP is conservative, but even they're not crazy about Taliban Sharia, let alone rest of Pakistan. We need to protect Pakistan & destory these jahail mullahs. They have brought us nothing good & they are trying to turn us into Afghanistan.

You need to understand that the Shariah, is the law prescribed upon us by Allah, and He has made it clear in the Quran, in more than one places, that the
"The Hukm belongs to Allah alone", (Surah Yousuf) and that
"whoever judges by other than what Allah has revealed is a disbeliever". (Surah Maidah verse 44)
You being a muslim, do not have an option, period.
Now when it comes to disbelievers they are not bound by the Shariah. They can rule by whatever system, they believe in. They can shave beards and do whatever they want to. They will be paying Jizyah and will be treated as official citizens of the State. The Muslims however will be paying Zakah.
Other fiqhs like the Shafe'ee, Hanbali, and Maliki are accepted fiqhs and people abiding by their laws will not be persecuted. There were salafi arabs living in Afghanistan at the time of the Taliban and they had no problems living there.
The entire world recognize the validity and the importance of the Islamic Financial System, especially in the wake of the recent disaster. Why cant we adopt the Islamic Social and Political systems as well and reap their benefits.

The issue is not about the Taliban. Would we accept the Shariah as our supreme source of legislation, if the Taliban were to back off?
We need to realize that we have a greater danger looming over us. The society as whole is acting in rebellion to the Commands of Allah. The rule belongs to Allah alone, like i earlier stated with the sources, and not to some democratic or secularistic system.
