that is not sharaafat. that is actually unhealthy. if ppl mixed openly and interacted sensibly, we would probably have less gender-related problems in our society. and I can guarantee you that the mullahs/pseudo-mullahs who pretend to be all naik and shareef by lowering their gaze when women are around are the opposite of shareef... in fact they're all quite khabees Mashallah...

I think one of the biggest requirement for being sharif here is that the guy didn't have a gf which i think might be a lil screwed up as well ... for example lets say a guy really likes a grl lets say in his uni and he tells the grl that he has feelings for her and he wants to marry her after he graduates and the grl says ok alrite i kinda like you too and that sorta makes them bf and gf but they don't do anything bf gf type just meet up with frnds and hang out and talk on the net or on the phone and whn the guy graduates he does the right thing sends his parents over and the grl turns out to be a gold digger rejects him and goes for someone loaded ... so wat category is the guy in now ... he did all the right things that a so called sharif person would do ... but according to the sharif definition floating around he is technically not sharif (?)

All I know, is that having a good job doesn't make you shareef. "looking" shareef, doesn't make you shareef. If you sleep around pre-marriage, doesn't make you shareef. If you make dhamkis to your spouse to sleep around after marriage, that ain't shareef. If you do drugs, doesn't make you shareef. If you have a low moral character, yet are perfect on paper, doesn't make you shareef.

Same applies to girls.
