To check if your tubes are open - they should do a simple dye test. It’s unconformable but not painful. I would advise not to have the laproscopy done BEFORE you know that there is an issue with the tubes. It’s a minor surgery but there is no need for it unless the dr. know that they need to fix the tubes.
I had the tube dye test done which showed a kinked tubed due to adhesions. The laproscopy was done to remove the adhesions and once the tube was in original position, I was able to conceive the following month.
