Ok there was a tradition in almost all communities of South Asia (especially Rajputs), not to drink water from daughter / sister’s in-laws. What was the logic behind that?

Same is true for entire forward castes and Sikhs as well, they generally avoid taking food and in case they take anything they pay back it through some gifts etc.
