^ that research is contradictory… in one place it says the words were uttered by “one of his Companions” (see just before isnad diagram) then later quotes Ibn Qutaiba saying “we state that the narrative of monkeys is neither on authority of Allah’s Messneger [sic] (peace be upon him) nor any of his Companions” (my emphasis)… so which is it?

GG…It’s been clarified that Amr b. Maimun was not a companion…It’s a grammatical error…

Amr B. Maimun was a first generation Muslim but that does not necessarily make him a companion…

This is the exact same case with Owais Kerni too…
