Plz remember that Pakistan itself is in grave danger also, APPNA is perhaps the only organised Pakistani group that tries to work with US to safeguard Pakistans interest.
You should not expect them to open too many fronts as an organisation.
And by the way Hareem, NAAMA has been around since 1970's, million Kashmiris have died since then

ps. doctors job is to saves life and not to go into nationality check (that if he is jew i wont gonna save his/her life : )). Even Saladin didnt do that to Richard.

I would rather see APPNA being involved with only Pakistani issues. Be it in Pakistan or USA.
Not too long ago I had a discussion with an avid supporter of APPNA and some higher ranked members. The essence of discussion was that APPNA should stay within its set boundaries and not be involved even in to Pakistani politics which is complex and takes up lots of time and energy of people in wrong direction.
Its a physician organization and the job of a physician is to deliver good quality healthcare first.
They need to look out for
1- Welfare of Pakistani physicians in US.
2- Pakistani living in US in terms of their healthcare specially the un-insured or senior citizens. So many have no insurance and need heart surgery, hip replacement or cancer treatment etc.
3-Providing health education and care to Pakistani under-developed areas. I know APPNA SEHAT is doing a good job on it.
4-Building good network among local physicians and Pakistani Physicians to help each other which still has much to be desired.
5- Promoting technological advancement in Pakistan.
Glasgow event had nothing to with Pakistan so why releasing a statement??
Cheap publicity?
Mumbai atttack has many questions unanswered and why butt in something which has no relation to Pakistani physicians in USA or even in Pakistan. So why poke their nose in it?
Publicity stunt?
Why pick a fight with Ambasador of Pakistan, snatching the microphone on stage in front of public and US congressman and in return get bad reaction and become a center of mockery? I know they were few bad apples but even that does not satisfy as being an answer. An act not up to the standard of nobel professionals.
Bottom line: APPNA needs to stay in its boundaries or set the boundaries a little more strictly.
It needs to have reputation of being a social and welfare organization and not so much a political association.

My personal opinion: Pakistan has no issues with Israel and no support over Kashmir from Arabs. Why should I care? I am not arab. I am not palestinian. I don't get anything from a new falestini state. It doesn't matter to me if israel doesnt exist or all jews are killed.

For me, with Islam in my heart and core: it is Pakistan first (and everyone, from the ahmedi to ismaili to sunnis to shias to christians etc). Everything else in this material world second.

I am genuinely angry at Pakistani's who know nothing of half a million dead Darfuri muslims killed by Arabs in Sudan....or don't care. But they love to cry about falestine, which is equally unrelated to us.

Because half a million have been burned alive, raped, and murdered in just 3 years time by arabs. entire generations have been wiped off. but thats ok though because 900 dead arabs seem much more imortant then half a million africans.
on the other more saner hand, a few thousand falestini in total have been killed in 60 years of israel.
hence Darfur is greater then all muslim causes right now. falestine is fourth or 5th on the list. or should be.
and regarding the previous comment. my family is obviously my concern, but all mashallah are doing well. hence my next big concern is pakistan and sure as hell not falestine.
