Now that he’s Federal Minister for Railway Shaikh Rashid has been quiet lately. Everyone’s still puzzled about his transfer. Why was he removed from his portfolio? And why railway of all things?
Dr Shahid Masood had him over on his programme on Thursday. And it was an interesting watch.
It seemed a case of “khoob guzrey gi jo mil baithein gey chalaak do”.
Some of the imp things that were woth noting were;
Dr Shahid Masood for some reason kept dropping hints that there is some probability of Sheikh saab’s becoming the next PM!? Why and how? Nobody could be sure. But Dr Shahid isnt known to fire in the air, maybe smthngs going on in Isl. And Sheikh saab’s comments in response portrayed his hopes and concerns. He wasn’t his usual straight forward self in denying or endorsing such views.
Another imp thing Shaikh saab said was that there “was no way Pakistan would hand over Dr A Q Khan ever”.
Then there wes discussion over the Sugar issue.
He said everyone even the govt knows who's involved and admitted many of those in the govt were involved too. Dr Shahid asked him why he didnt mention any names or why the govt didnt do antyhting? He in turn asked Dr Shahid that the media knows all names too, why dont they air all names and proof? He said that was because all forms of power and influence ally for evil. They may belong to diff trades or schools of thought, but when it comes to supporting ill and aiding each other in corruption all become one. regardless of parties, trade, ideologies, ethnicity, religion. corruption unites everyone.
And he admitted that unfortunately this govt too has not been able to release pakistan from the stranglehold of corruption, feudalism etc. but has been successful in making some other great changes and improvements but the older and major curses still remain in full control.
Then he spoke rather ferociously against Nawaz Sharif and referred to him as a 'dhokey baaz'.

Ab issy ke kasr rahaigee thhee....yaar, what has the ppl of Pakistan done to deserve this? Akhir humaree ghalthee kia hai? Sh Rasheed is classic establishment ka aadmi, his credentials are above par when compared to the rest. He can mutate into a mulla when needed and as quickly into a philandering womanizer when required. To his credit, he has always been a ppl's politician, or that is the way it has been projected.
By the way Dr (?) Shahid Masood loves conspiracy theories, his career is based upon controversial but populist theories, he has never been required to substantiate his theories and is extremely popular because he offers viewers with cloak and dagger stories with arch villian the west trying to subjugate the poor muslims. Great marketing.
I am not sure when he was fired from his position as information minister.I think he hinted on that show with shahid masood that it probably had to do with some comments that he made about govts handling of the situation in Waziristan.He said that he was given a choice by Shaukat Aziz to either leave or become railway minister, he accepted the later.
I know Sheikh sahib pretty well, mainly because Im from his constituency and was my dads class fellow. The man has no morals whatsoever, and is the biggest LOTA ever to step in Pakistani politics. Just think about it, he has just about sided with everyone uptil now. I dont even know why the people of Pindi the former NA-38 vote for him, he has done NOTHING for the city, and its afact that in BB's second term, even though he was the MNA there, her secretary Naheed Khan, also a resident of Pindi did more for the city than him, in a bid to win the next elections.
Sheikh saab for all his flaws is a character (he is one not has any)..and along with self respect those are traits which are thought of poorly by establishment chamchas. I suspect he will face a similar political fate to Faisal Saleh Hayat..at least till the next elections.
last I saw the joker he was at the hilton in rabat two weeks ago, walkign around like a ghunda with half oh his shirt unbottoned and whining that his key card was not working on the exec floor lounge.
The guy has the worst comb over i have ever seen, which goes well with his lota-ness. I am sure he was demoted due to his lack of substance. wonder why ppl like him are in the cabinet to start with.
Because people like Musharaf would do any thing to stay in power just like Zia, BB, NZ or the MMA. Its a system based on exploitation of masses in the name of religion, economy, and wars.
yup, all pakistani politicians ...like politicians worldwide are interested in their power. What distinguishes one politician from the other is the results that are delivered.
khuda ko maano yaaro, he doesn't deserve to be in any parliament let alone be a PM. God forbid if he does become a PM then the downhill will journey will be faster than ever :(
So are saying is that now President Musharaf is a politician too, thats would be one more flip flop for General Musraf to stay in power. One can see why he is leading the bunch of flippflopping politicains.:) :)

Pir Sahib, as long as they are politicians, its their "living" to flip flop every four years or so, they do it here on every little damn issue, but it really strange when a Jernal commanding 500,000 jawans also leads an army of flip floppers. He would have been better leading the Jawans.
