True. I agree. There are also Indian actors/singers/directors who have worked in Pakistani industry. I guess that’s how cultural exchange works worldwide.
In the 90s ARY had some dramas with leading Indian actors of the time. I think it was called Sunn Leyna and it had Ranjeev Khandelwal and Amina Sharif
This year Sultanat(2014) a Pakistani picture has Indian actress Shweta Tiwari, also a past big boss winner. She can be seen in 1:45 in a song.
SHreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam etc have sung songs for Pakistani movies/tv. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam sing for Indian movies.
Zee Zindagi featuring Pakistani dramas is 7th most watched channel in India.
No one has issues. We should be happy that the actors of our industries are above these boundaries when it comes to art and culture. At the end of the day it is their life, their talent and they will make ultimate decision who to share it with.

In the movie she plays a Gujurati Muslim girl from the 1980s. This is one of the reasons the director chose her because she can play the role more authentically than say Deepika or others. The director, Rahul Dholakia, is no ordinary director. He won a national award for his movie , Parzania, which was about Gujurat riots in the eyes of a Parsi boy. Not your typical movie.
Let’s maybe give this movie a chance since it stars SRK. Mahira has said no to plenty of Bollywood movies in the past.
Of course which better actress to play a Muslim girl convincingly then a top actress from Pakistan. Kind of like how Nandita Das starred in Ramchand Pakistani as a Pakistani Hindu mother.

Mahira Khan, the stunner from Shoaib Akhtar’s Bol has been signed to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.
And director Rahul Dholakia says the unusual choice has nothing to do with Mahira’s popularity in India post the telecast of the Pakistani serial Humsafar. “Mahira’s popularity is beyond question. But that is only an added bonus. We signed her because the film is set in aMuslim ghetto of Gujarat and character needs to possess a certain look.”
More importantly Raees is set in the 1980s. Dholakia wanted an actress who would look convincing as Muslim girl in Gujarat in the 1980s. The usual names from Deepika and Katrina to Priyanka and Anushka were quickly rejected.
The pairing thus time had to be absolutely fresh. Luckily Mahira said yes.
Apparently, Mahira said no to a few Bollywood offers in the past.
A looks-test featuring Mahira with Shah Rukh has proven the pair to be refreshing and real.
Rahul anticipates no visa problems for the Pakistani beauty. “There are no problems with American actors coming here. Why should there be a problem with a neighbouring country? Having said that, let me add that her presence is the producers’ issue. My job is to shoot the film.”

lol Maybe Shoaib Mansoor has a Rawalpindi connection. Abhi tak kaafi Indians ko Shoaib Akhtar yaad hai and how he ripped through Indian batting line up number of times.
