I had heard that while she was in India recently she rejected to work in Indian films and TV industry saying that Pakistan is her ultimate priority not foreign work. I wonder what changed that made her sign this ;)

Fawad Khan played it safe by playing a prince charming type role so nothing to talk about there. But if news about Mahira is true then I think its ambitious of her to choose the role of a Gujarati girl opposite an experienced (but average) actor like SRK.
I liked her roles in Humsafar and Shehr-e-Zaat which coincidently included a lot of tears & long, reflective scenes. As for Sadqey Tumhare I honestly think the hype machine took over because her acting is odd in that.
Actors from USA, Mexico, Canada, Australia, France, UK etc work with each other all the times in Hollywood movies. No one makes that a matter of pride or ego. Why is that we are always stuck with mulk kee izzat and quom ka Waqar kind of stuff if our actors are working in an Indian movie
I don't think people realise the sudden influx of Pakistani actors in bollywood is you scratch my back and I scratch yours situation. Pakistan is a huge market and even if the movie fails domestically bollywood is banking on international revenue. We're the only audience that can understand the movie without subtitles and ignoring us would be poor planning.
Most of my family, cousins etc. have never seen an Indian movie in their life but I think even they knew about khoobsoorat because of fawad so I'm at least seeing the effect.
Fawad and Sonam Kapoor was a flop match...he should have had a better co-star
Mahira and SRK - IF they're together it'l be because the Khan's usually like to be paired with no-namers so they can be the star of the show. If Mahira wants to break into B'wood...this is a good chance.
After events in Peshawar and Sydney i’m not sure it is such a great compliment to be a human. Maybe being a chimpanzee is better.
This is what Prasoon Joshi , Bollywood lyricist of movies such as Taare Zameen Par, Fanaa, Hum Tum etc had to say of humans and the peshawar tragedy.
“Jab bachpan tumhari god mein aaney se katraange lage Jab maa ki kokh se jhankti zindagi baahar aaney se ghabrane lage Samjho kuch galat hai… (When childhood is hesitant to sit in your lap
When life that watches out from a mother’s womb is afraid of coming out, Know, something is wrong)
Jab talwaarein phoolon par zor aazmane lagein Jab masoom ankhon mein khauf nazar aane lagey Samjho kuch galat hai… (when swords use their force on flowers
When innocent eyes show fear
Know, something is wrong)
Jab oas ki boondon ko hatheliyon pe nahin, hathiyaaron ki nok par theherna ho Jab nanhe nanhe talwon ko aag se guzarnaa ho Samjho kuch galat hai.. (When the early morning dew sits still on the edge of weapons, not palms, When the soft feet of tiny tots have to walk on fire Know, something is wrong)
Jab kilkariyan saham jayein
Jab totli boliyaan khamosh ho jayein
Samjho kuch galat hai.. (When squeals of kids stop suddenly in fear
When the sweet stutter of kids go silent
Know, something is wrong)
Kuch nahin, bahut kuch galat hai
Kyonki zor se baarish honi chahiye thi poori duniya mein
har jagah tapakne chahiye the aansoo
Rona chahiye tha uparwale ko aasmaan se
Phoot Phoot kar
sharm se jhukni chaiye thee, insaani sabhyata ki gardanein (Not some, but most of the things have gone wrong
It should have rained heavily across the world
Rains of tears should have fallen everywhere
One who is above should have wept from the skies
Torrentially,
The necks of human civilization should have hung in shame)
Shok nahin, sock ka waqt hai
Maatam nahin, sawalon ka waqt hai
Agar iske baad bhi sar utha kar khada ho sakta hai insaan Samjho ki kuch galat hai.” (It’s the time of thoughts, not mourning
It’s the time of questions, not gloom
And yet, even after all this, if humans can walk with heads high, Know, something is wrong)
SRK is also originally from Peshawar so naturally he will have supporters from the hometown of his ancestors as well as many fans of his movie. Also, how do you know her role won’t be respectable? It is a SRK movie not emraan hashmi movie. Deepika did alright after being launched in a SRK movie and Mahira already has a following from Humsafar.
Fawad seemed to enjoy the movie and it was a hit. It might not have been a great critically acclaimed movie but sonam kapoor does have some successful movies to her name like Ranjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
I don’t know why you, lilyy2k2, torture yourself by watching Bollywood movies when you clearly do not like anything about it. Neither do you like us. GIve yourself a break and just read the review if you want to know how a bollywood movie with a pakistani actor goes. As an adult Mahira has the ability to choose what roles will or won’t be good for her. No one can impose on her..and also most Pakistani adults also have the ability to choose whether to watch a bollywood movie or not. They can decide on many factors like story, actors, director etc.
Why are people so emotionally attached and obsessed and super defensive about their B'wood celebrities as though they share a blood relation with them or live with them? It's disturbing.

I don't know if this was directed towards me. But no i am not attached to or super defensive about B'celebrities. Many in India don't even watch Bollywood but films of other Indian industries. I just find it unnecessary to always have this negative, arrogant putting down tone and unnecessary to compare a human being to an animal. I don't feel it is constructive criticism. Doesn't matter if the human being is Indian or Pakistani. I don't care if i have been called idiot or whatever before by someone but i think it is possible to have a civil conversation and mention dislike of Bollywood without animal name calling or being negative about everything.
I am advising Lily that she shouldn't watch those movies if she hates it as has been mentioned on many threads. Why unnecessarily put yourself through the torture of it when you can just read the review. People have a right to comment on choices of Pakistani actors and Pakistani actors/viewers of Bollywood have a right to their choices as well.
Me and my parents prefer Pakistani dramas to Indian tv etc. My parents have promoted Pakistani dramas over Indian tv to their friends. So for someone to then say on another thread (i.e. the Anil Kapoor thread) that Indians never show appreciation for Pakistani dramas is incorrect. Or that Indian artists do not show appreciation for Pakistani dramas is incorrect when number of celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Kiron Kher, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Om puri, Paresh Rawal, Ram Gopal Verma have done so. I am not defending them and their character but actual facts from statements they have made.
It's not about having a blood relation but about caring for other human beings even if they happen to be a fickle celebrity. I care about Lily as well so i am suggesting she doesn't watch these Bollywood movies that she finds of no value.
^What are you on about? I hadn't directed anything toward you. Go read the disturbing comments on Pinkvilla...the viewers are obsessed by the celebs, defend them as though they live under the same roof as them. I don't even have a fave celeb; there's nobody I feel ga-ga about. Just seeing the faces of cekebs such as SRK in every other pic is enough to put me off.

I thought your response was in reply to me saying SRK shouldn't be compared to a chimpanzee by another member and other related comments. It was turning into a Bollywood vs Pakistani entertainment thing. I just didn't feel like it was constructive.
I apologise as that is not the case. I am not a big fan of any celeb- entertainment or sportwise. I find blind followers on pinkvilla on any other site off putting. I don't go there.

If you had seen Sivaji Ganesan act, you would not have made this statement.
