Afridi’s comments are probably due to a mixture of cultural and religious views. But you are correct that the oppression of women is not just a religious thing but also a cultural thing… most old cultures are patriarchal and suppress women to some level…some of them moved on to a limit.. some (afghanistani) havent moved on much at all..
