It's hilarious how this whole mess can be seen in the Zardari vs. Sharif context -- the real deal is that they all suck, I wouldn't expect anything better from Nawaz Sharif. What is needed is a change, a real one, in form of Imran Khan -- he'd excel at taking care of situations like this one which all the current civilian leadership seems to be clueless about.
PS: Will the Sharif brothers launch a yellow-hovercraft-scheme for all the affectees?

Taking a page out of Grandfather Wen's book. Good on Shahbaz. This is in fact leadership. Not sitting in London and shopping while the Pakistani people are dying. More so Shahbaz has an excellent reputation as an administrator. This was efficient, smart and not wasting our money. Unlike a holiday in France and England.

I cannot agree with you more but bhai in the real world IMRAN KHAN kay koi chances nahe hain govt main aanay kay atleast for next 50 years GREAT approach educated respected but no power .

12 billions of foreign debt but no investment in the country what so ever, the load shedding crisis is getting worse from bad...the reconstruction of balakot and other earthquake affected areas has been stopped, the donors are confused about the utilization of their money if the hand it to government headed by zardari...

You illustrate the mindset of the average Pakistani so well -- they only accept power that is IMPOSED on them -- just like Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Hussain were imposed on the *awam *by the Army/Zia ul Haq, and Benazir/Zardari are backed by the west. These fools really love blaming everyone but will not take the correct action by voting for the RIGHT people -- and instead they just support those who are backed by the powerful.
They want to back the powerful because they are so myopic and really don't care for the nation. So in the end, they get what they deserve -- a corrupt, inept government.
The moment Imran is backed by those who matter, the people of Pakistan, worshiping the rising sun, will automatically support him.

If all the politicians/ prime ministers AS YOU MENTIONED been imposed on us then you should not talk about VOTING SYSTEM like it really matter who we vote for ,
At the moment IMRAN KHAN is backed by JACK ALL , If we make him a President who will run the govt , how many people you know from his party who are eligible enough to be a prime minster ?? and MINISTERS ???

You've simply reiterated what I'm trying to say. The awam totally inept and illiterate as it is, will always back those it perceives to be powerful, for they depend on the powerful lot for their own survival. And now ask y ourself who're the powerful? Those who're backed by the establishment, feudals, local mafias etc. These are the thugs who they vote for simply because they believe that they can actually do something for them when in power -- as a sort of a payback for the votes they've given. Imran doesn't get votes because his party doesnt have the clout/power/influence which the established parties do -- and bear in mind, Nawaz was a Zia protege, so is ALtaf Hussain. There was never a mass movement behind these people -- they were planted in power, and the masses only followed later. Imran Khan was offered such a deal by Musharraf, which he rightly or wrongly refused. And therein lies the problem with Pakistani voters, they rarely vote on merit but instead choose to back those who they believe exert clout to reward their votes with 'favors' for them or their community.

Exactly! So it is hight time that everyone wakes up and shop electing jerks! IK is not responsible for 80% not being able to even write their name, he is not the one making policies for education.
And there no people eligible, then those who are eligible should join him, he can not produce people.
Oh and last but not least Zia sowed the seeds of this mess. Dictators are good for nothing!

President actually is just a figure, its prime minister who is supposed to be the working/controlling guy (though its opposite in case of ball-less Gillani and Zardari). So if Imran Khan somehow becomes Prime Minister I am sure he will be able to achieve 20-30 times what other Prime Ministers have done so far (done anything??).

^^ You're not Imran Khan's vote bank anyway. If he ever sweeps power, it'll b e from KP and Punjab. I can't see Sindh swaying to PTI and from what I've seen so far, Karachi is a lost cause as far as a revolutionary shuffle in the po wer structure is concerned.

and what can they do when they die of poverty related issues like hunger and disease.......were I in that situation I would happily give up my vote for food and clothing for my children........even if it came but once a year.
