Punjab chief minister terms those killed in drone attacks his brothers

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday called for the creation of new provinces in Sindh as being demanded in Punjab, adding that Karachi be made a province, a private news channel reported.
Addressing a ceremony at the laying of foundation stone of a school’s building, the CM termed those killed in North Waziristan in US drone attacks as his brothers.
Shahbaz said US drone attacks were promoting terrorism in Pakistan. “This government cannot stop missile attacks because they are earning dollars in exchange for these attacks,” he alleged.
Giving advice to the government, he said the way to live an honourable life was only possible by breaking the begging-bowl. “Being beggars and nuclear power at the same time are two different facts, which could not run shoulder-to-shoulder,” he said.
Declining to comment on the party’s leader, Makhdoom Javaid Hashmi’s statement, Shahbaz prayed for his long life. “Not only should new provinces be formed in south Punjab, but Karachi should also be made a new province, he reiterated.
It's high time somebody should be talking about Pakistan. Already we have not been able to build any dam in last 35 years. We have to see the prosperity of the country on whole. If we build dams to create water reservoirs, we can bring a lot of uncultivated land under productive usage, not to forget the cheap energy source which will boast industry. Regionalism will not take us anywhere..
It's very easy for the politicians to gain personal glory by talking about the division of the cake.. somebody should start talking about increasing the size of the cake and what should the nation be doing to achieve this goal. We are already divided on the basis of religious orientations, ethnic groups, social groups etc etc.. someone has to unite this divided nation to achieve common economic goals. People who are talking about new initiatives to divide pakistanis further are not doing any service to Pakistan..
It's high time all this non sense should stop and we should start talking about how to unite/combine strengths.. If people of one small village suffer to bring prosperity to 100 villages it's better to take such initiatives. We can always find ways to compensate people who will suffer when mega projects are undertaken for the larger interest of the country.. otherwise I am afraid we don't stand a chance against other regional countries like India and China who have been able to create a feeling of nation amongst their diversified people. These countries are undertaking increased initiatives which benefit the larger segments of the people..
When it comes to rights of the people many like to divert them to other issues.
I want to say truth.
I see and face Chauhdari ,Sardar ,Wadera, Khan mentality every where in Pakistan even on internet.
Shahbaz could be an idiot but it's quite irrelevant because he was asked the question about South Punjab being seperated from Punjab, he answered the question by saying "If South Punjab needs to be seperated then why not Karachi"??? It's a fair question so why are people overreacting here?
Just watched news that PMLN office in Karachi was attacked by MQM gangsters in response to Shabaz's comments. These thugs can ask for seperate provinces in Punjab but no one has right to talk about Karachi.
That's why i believe absolutely NOTHING what these hypocrites say.
The Sharif's already support the Taliban, now they want to create more civil war in Sindh.
They are clearly a security risk to Pakistan.
You are actually defining "HYPOCRICY". Every Tom, Dick and Harry can ask for more provinces in Punjab but when similar question is asked about Sindh, it becomes an issue. Evil Punjabis trying to start civil war in Sindh lol................AMAZING.
To be honest, Punjab population is getting bigger and bigger. There is no harm in dividing Punjab in two or more provinces.
And Baluchistan could also be divided, because of the killings of Hazara and Pakhtoons by Balochi terrorists.
BUT......... new provinces means more friction between people and provinces. Not a single province is willing to divide its province in pieces.
With a high illiteracy rate and rising food prices and so forth, do we really need new provinces NOW?
Shahbaz Sharif is just another idiot. If he don't want Punjab to be divided, ok. But this stupid action will anger Sindhis and last but not least our b*stard movement MQM. Ya Allah.
You are actually defining "HYPOCRICY". Every Tom, Dick and Harry can ask for more provinces in Punjab but when similar question is asked about Sindh, it becomes an issue. Evil Punjabis trying to start civil war in Sindh lol................AMAZING.
Do you even know what your talking about?
Nobody in Sindh is calling for more provinces in Punjab.
We need atleast four new provinces for administrative purpose alone (politics aside). We also need to break the CSS clan that is occupying Pakistan for last six decades. We need more open and transparent CSS process to bring young fresh educated blood into the govt. offices.
You are actually defining "HYPOCRICY". Every Tom, Dick and Harry can ask for more provinces in Punjab but when similar question is asked about Sindh, it becomes an issue. Evil Punjabis trying to start civil war in Sindh lol................AMAZING.
I think we should leave these political clowns aside whose sole aim is gain political benefits, even at the cost of national harmony. If Sindh prospers and Karachi takes the lead it has the potential to take whole of Pakistan towards economic betterment.
We need to take a national approach to uplift our country. I sincerely believe for example we need more water reservoirs. Punjab should not get a single drop of this additional water as the they have sufficient water to irrigate their lands. They waste enough water by flooding their fields. All this additional water should be used to irrigate Baluchistan, arid areas of Sindh and Punjab while central Punjab should be forced to used drip irrigation to conserve water. This the kind of national approach which is needed to uplift our country. Similarly the industry should get gas and power on priority irrespective of the region.
We need to take a nationalistic approach and consider the whole country as a single economic zone rather than instigating people to hate each other on regional basis. This new debate about new provinces is just another attempt to divert the attention of the people from real issues facing our country. If we want to progress the only way is to think like Pakistanis trying to uplift Pakistan..!!!
