I think we should leave these political clowns aside whose sole aim is gain political benefits, even at the cost of national harmony. If Sindh prospers and Karachi takes the lead it has the potential to take whole of Pakistan towards economic betterment.

Shahbaz could be an idiot but it's quite irrelevant because he was asked the question about South Punjab being seperated from Punjab, he answered the question by saying "If South Punjab needs to be seperated then why not Karachi"??? It's a fair question so why are people overreacting here?
Just watched news that PMLN office in Karachi was attacked by MQM gangsters in response to Shabaz's comments. These thugs can ask for seperate provinces in Punjab but no one has right to talk about Karachi.

Some great journalism, why was the guy asking South Punjab being separated? Its not like South Punjab will be separated from Punjab and handed over to India or US/NATO, it will still be part of Pakistan.

Its probably catch 22 situation, dividing provinces into smaller pieces is good for administration but at same time it will be seen as 'dividing people'. I do think that creating provincial borders should not be along ethnic lines, should be aligned for ease of administration so that important issues like "Kalabagh dam" do not become obstructions for progress.

Without changing the mindset you will not improve any administration if you finish all the provinces or make 100 new provinces. The mindset has to be changed towards more nationalistic approach with priority given to prosperity of Pakistan than encouraging regionalism..

Agreed, creating provinces without people understanding need of more provinces will not do any good.
