And that brings up back to culture. Not only parents but all aunties within a 50 mile radius get their knickers in a twist about a girls marriage as soon as she turns 20 (or 15 depending on whether you a a mullah or sane).
Girls have this drummed into them that they should concern themselves only with giving birth to children and looking after them. In our culture, girls are too often little more than their husbands’ mistress and servant; the only difference being that they are unpaid.
Its a vicious cycle!
