Bhai sahab, i am already married.. :D First I thought that chameli's both dresses are going to be her mother-in-law's choice. I wore my walima dress which was my inlaws choice. I only knew the color, saw the dress on my walima day. I didnt have any problem when they didnt take me with them to chose the dress.

Chameli: have you or your parents talked to your MIL about your valima outfit? Maybe someone can suggest to her that since you are going to Pakistan, you can get it yourself since she isn't going anyway. As for your MIL not calling, my MIL was like that too but I was relieved that I didn't have to talk to her because she didn't make me feel very welcome by her behavior either since she showed her strict nature right after the baat paki.

very vain attitude of being a "Beta". like you are not even 'in' into his life yet and he is leaving even more negative impressions of his MOTHER onto You. hmm.. i wonder whether he would be proved as good husband or not.

and regarding dress, i agree with IRA. Waleemah dress is like a gift to you. If you are not given an honor to choose it on your own, then accept the gift as it is. Baraat is Your day, but Waleemah is NOT.
