depends on who you go to. our outfits from jabeen's, including the valima bridal, won't be finished until April and we placed the order in early February. you have to keep in mind the daily load-shedding situation, and sometimes hangama's that happen there. it makes it hard to get a bridal outfit any sooner.

SGC,
A friend of mine is going to Karachi for to pick up her wedding outfit. I am helping her with finding the items we will need for her mehndi, gift boxes etc. Is it possible for me to communicate with your aunt via email so I can have the names and addresses of the stores ready for my friend to visit? She will be in Karachi only for 1 week so I would like to have everything organized for her.
THanks much!

Re: SGC's Review- Bridal Shopping in Karachi
Hello ladies!
I finally found out the names of the stores where my cousin is getting her bridals from in Kehkashan:
beverley hills fashions, as you enter its on the right -- her bridal and valima jora are both here
yumna zari corner, as you enter, its also on the right, a few shops down from beverley hills fashion -- she's had formals made from here
my mom saw them this week and said they were absolutely stunning and exactly like the pics from the magazines she copied the joras from.
i don't know about prices but i think her formals were in the 8000-10,000 range and her bridals are around 40-60,000.
SGC
do you know which dresses did she got replicated from kehkashan?

a sana safinaz one- it was on the cover of one of the libas magazines from earlier this year- magenta and emerald green open front style.
the second is a version of a purple/shocking pink/white Bunto that she's getting made in peach and apple green.
sgc..did you remember from which shop did you got your ear rings from...
no, i'm sorry :( its a really well known shop in Gulf though so if you go, you should be able to find it easily. they sell good quality silver plated in gold jewellery.

Great thread SGC! Scouring the markets and boutiques of Karachi is definetely what I would rather be doing, than everyday grocery shopping here in England! ![]()
I was in Karachi last summer, but didn’t get a chance to visit Zamzama (even though we drove past it several times), or Naurattan! For jewellery, I thought A.K Motiwala’s were brilliant, especially thier bangle store! For formal/semi-formal clothing, I found Rabi Centre had loads of great little shops with amazing suits, resonably priced! Although, a certain amount of patience and determination is needed to bargain with the Pathaan sellers(?)! I mean with some of them, it’s like bargaining with a brick wall! ![]()
We were living in Malir Cantt, so we were recommended a BRILLIANT tailor in Shah Faisal Town, called Shakeel. He would return our clothes fully stitched with piping and everything, within 3/4 days! One of my formals I had to get urgently stitched in 3 hours, and he had it fully finished in not 3, but 2 hours! I was amazed at how good he had done it, in such a short amount of time, and he didn’t even charge any extra! ![]()
For even more expensive and important clothes, I would suggest a tailor called Anees, in Bahadurabad. He also does very good tailoring, and not too over-priced either!
Hope this helps girls!
SGC, please can you PM me your aunts info. Help like that is invaluable, when shopping in Pakistan! ![]()
