i think sexist societes are those where women donot have the same freedom as men. a place where a woman cannot make her own decision and where she cannot live independently, where there is double standards in how people view morality in men and women. unfortunately, there are many societies which are sexist. if a woman must depend on a man in a society, thats a sexist society.
i think the reason is both religion and culture.
