I learnt the ‘basics’ at school , back in Germany at the time. I was like 13-14 at the time. And I also had Biology as a subject for a long time (same like medic), So learnt a lot in biology lessons.
To be honest. I first learnt during those biology lessons (about where babies came from). And I was shocked and astonished… Then I also learnt from books in library :halo:
Nothing from parents at all. I agree with you, that its important to be able to talk with kids.
I will discuss about this with my kids (when and if I have any) Thats what I always think about. I think its important to have such an open relation with your kids. That you can easily talk about everything. And much like medic said, It is better to teach them about the topic.
Lastly, also with friends. Well more like I taught them. I remember when I was in Pakistan for the last time. I stayed there for a year, and went to college. And the guys there they could be called illiterate for that matter. I had this Encyclopedia (with detailed information about all kinds of stuff -with illistrations!) and so also about this and other matters.
I can tell you, they didn’t know anything at all. Until they read this Encyclopedia that I had. And they were like “aankhain phaar phaar ke daikhin”. And uhmmm.. some more stuff they said… I can’t even repeat it here.. Too embarrassing…

What goes on in bedroom, is a private matter and should not be discussed or revealed to other persons unless there is some necessity, such as health or safety. Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet (pbuh) said this about people who reveal and discuss openly their sexual practices: "Do you know what those who do this are like? Those who do this are like a male and female devil who meet each other on the road and satisfy their desire while the people look on."
Therefore, in Islam the husband and the wife choose their sexual activities according to the sure teaching of the Qur'an, in the light of the Sunnah as we are able to understand and appreciate it, in mutual respect for one another and knowing that the only witness to the expression of their desires will be Allah the Exalted, who will judge them according to their deeds and their heartfelt intentions.
we lived i germany for a while , and they showed us a movie about how a baby is born, ( and i couldnt eat for 2 days!!! yuck) but i didnt know how it was concieved until like i was 23 years old and my sister got married and she told me in not so clear words, but then my friend showed me a porn and then i got the idea. as for my kids knowing abut it, well i have a daughter , and i will tell her, not clearly though .cause we live in usa and it will be good for her to know about it, but nomatter how open i am with her, the " lehaz" of mother and daughter should always be there. and i cant bring my self to it.i will however tell her to keep her distance from boys and be dignified, not like cheap american teenagers. ( plz pray to allah that i succeed in my mission, ameen..)
11 when Peter told me how kids were ‘made’. I said our ‘God’ would be very angry with him and we had a different way of making kids. We prayed and they kinda descended so ammi told me
But…for real…Personal Sex Education classes at 11 or 13..one of the two. Mannn we had to put condoms on moulds :yukh: watch women in labour i thought it was toooooo much toooooo early.
i remember that we were told the babies are sent/delivered by god. well, if you want one pray for one and next day you will find a baby next to ur momy. :-D so, from that anybody can have a baby :-P and i always wondered why my prayers for having a brother never came true :-D

Germans are worse when it comes to this stuff... I remember even their local channels, like VOX, ONYX are showing porn openly all the time, atleast in the US its limited to PPVs. Im assuming you didnt use a television in Germany until the age of 23.

Second one: I don't know if I could talk about "it" with my kids that openly. Right now, I'm saying that I would, lekin asliyat ka to phir us waqt hi patta challe ga.
