I was at the library and I found a 'kiddy' book (don't ask me how) on the topic.
So how did you find the book? :)

And that was a real eye-opener! Other than that mostly books I guess.
ANd yeah, I plan on having this conversation with my kids (if I ever have any) I think it's important, maybe cuz I didnt have that kinda relationship with my parents.
How was it an eye opener? In what way do you mean that?

As for me, It was at the age of 13 onwards. First at school. And then mostly from books and magazines.

who---me
You mean you had those 3 books at home? And who encouraged you to read the books?

T®ïñït¥
Well I honestly don't know where I got the book from, I guess I was just browsing in the library. I don't know why I opened it or decided to read it. Anywayz, eye opener cuz there were things described in that book that I didn't know about. And there were illustrations .. !
You know how kids always joke around on this topic and I always laughed with them without actually knowing what it was about, till I read the book ;)

Uhlalaa.. illustrations haan! ;)

But Really, I cannot remember having joked around about it, and having laughed about any such topic? Care to explain what was it that you laughed about? and what you joked about?

And how did you think about it after having read the book? Did it make you curious in anyway?

^Well I didnt joke around, other ppl did and I never knew what they meant. Anywayz not really joking but more like silly comments with double meanings etc.

Yep, book made me curious, so I educated myself a lil more after that. :)

PS) I'm supposed to be the one asking all the qs :p

Am I not allowed to ask any qs? I do not remember having read any such rule, when I signed up!
By all means, you can ask me anything you want. :)

Yeah, at home. No one encouraged me to real the sex ed part. I figured that one out myself :o .

But it was a healthy of finding it out, the books even have FAQs on different issues.

Where did you get yours from and at what age?

 • School
 • Parents
 • Books
 • TV
 • Friends etc.
I learnt it myself instinctively :)

Where did I learn my sex education?

It's all in the head!

waisay seriously, when I first found out where a baby comes out of, I was in total denial for a few days. I thought it was just impossible. I always thought it came out of the belly button :( . I believed in that theory til I was 10. Then it was mostly from friends in school, a 30 minute subtle class in 10th grade (which talked more about hookers and taking ghussal than anything else), and watching classic Hollywood movies.

That was until I was 18. But then my knowledge took off like a space rocket. I got to know about the other gender. It all started to make sense.

Now, I think I know more than I need to.

How educated am I? Hmmm, I know the basic stuff and if I ever come across something I don't have knowledge of then I look it up. (that's what I mean with educate)
And ofcourse u can ask qs, that's not how I meant it >>silly joke!

funguy

"a 30 minute subtle class in 10th grade (which talked more about hookers and taking ghussal than anything else), "<<

Was this in Pakistan?
I always thought that they cut the mummy's belly and get the baby out, yep quite a shock when I found out that wasn't the case. Me and my siblings actually examined my mums belly from time to time to see which 'stich' belonged to which baby :o

I was probably about 7 or 8. Learnt it in the schoolyard and playgrounds from other kids.

When I was young(abt 14) I literally thought a woman gets pregnant from hugging and french kissing the opposite gender.:o

I took physical ed class in my 9th grade but still had no idea about it(it was an optional part of the course). I got know this stuff from friends when I was 15 yrs old. And the rest I learned from reading medical books, magazines and articles on this topic.. By now I have pretty good knowledge about sex and issues related to it....:)..And yes, I'll defintely talk to my kids regarding sex issues if I have to!!

Well, after that, I became much older mentally. :)

7 or 8  oh my god that is YOUNG yaar, what kind of school did you go to

Yeah I have a few ideas about a few things, of course from books what else, I never did like those classes at school. However since I am single and have no idea if and when I will no long be single anymore then too much knowledge about that issue right now is not very important to me.

how cute :dixsi:

I learned the 'basics' in Junior High School in health class. Other than that, I knew nothing! :) To tell you the truth, I still know very little. I usually just sit with my mouth shut whenever the girls get together and the topic turns to sex. :)

:D Mehnaz I do that also, I mean I am single and when I am around married females and they start talking about stuff like that I just leave, I just dont feel comfortable about this issuse, call me old fashion, but I think it should be kept to ones ownself

It is also haram to speak about intimate things like that among others.

From todays melbourne Herald Sun:

:p

Married desi women talk about that???

Maj, I’m not trying to challenge you or anything, but out of genuine curiosity I’d like to see the source for “It is also haram to speak about intimate things like that among others.”
