Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Just me or did that long advice avoid explaining a very crucial thing. It starts with an Mas and ends with -tion.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

NO

No

No

Now I can assume about you that You’re either brainwashed or have a wrong partner or have physical/emotional problems or you’re not innocent or you don’t find a need to clean yourself properly after having a sexual intercourse with your partner because you don’t find it disgusting and unclean.

Okay sex is a natural thing but it doesn’t mean that its not disgusting and filthy.
But Okay I assume for a minute that you are right now please explain how thinking about sex as a filthy thing can lead you to numerous societal injustices, discrimination, rapes, ignorance, unwanted pregnancies, doomed marriages, growth and emotional problems?

I’ve grown up with the idea that sex is disgusting (which is right) and sex out of wedlock is a biggest sin, Alhamdulilah I’m physically and emotionally healthy, I’m happy with my marriage and with having children, I don’t think I’m ignorant, I haven’t commit any sexual crimes in my 24 years life and thats why I cannot understand your weirdest statement, it sounds to me very wrong and almost a lie.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

You should have used the word filthy, not disgusting. There are lots of filthy things, but they are not disgusting. Cooking meat is filthy, you have to wash the meat, clean it, sometimes remove excess fat from it, get all your hands dirty, and then cook it. Then you just wash your hands and you are clean. Disgusting would be not cleaning the meat, and just eating it raw.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

You see what happens when people are brought up to think sex is disgusting? It carries these warped thoughts into adulthood. How sad. Very unhealthy. I also have to clean up after doing yard work and working on my car, it doesn't mean that those things are filthy and disgusting.

It is unhealthy to teach people that sex is disgusting. But since you still believe that as a married mother, I don't expect you to get it. I suggest you read up on it. Just avoid those mullah-inspired books that rely heavily on dogma and tradition and instead research medical and pyschological journals.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

AND

statement is forcefully contradicting eachother

It implies that you are happily doing and enjoying something which you consider disgusting ??? :konfused:

OR<<<<

You consider something disgusting then you cant happily do it for God sake. You can only do it by compulsion , religious or wordly.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Do you believe in your culture OR do you believe in Islam???

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Thanks for posting this information STP I had been thinking about asking too:)May Allah Mian bless you for all the information you share:)

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

If you come in contact with dog poop in order to clean your yard or car then YES it is disgusting and unclean.

How is it unhealthy?
Can you provide the proof from the medical ang psychological research for the idea of sex being filthy leads you to an unhealthy and criminal life full of rapes, unwanted pregnancies , broken marriages etc etc?

For all you said above clearly indicates that you haven't read Psychology ever in your life.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

So whenever you have sex, you feel like in “contact” :omg: with dog poop???..I don’t know how much you are disgusted by it, but it is very likely that you hubby is disgusted by this approach of yours…No hard feeling hareem…but couldn’t control myself telling this!!

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

My post was in context to seminole’s post where he claimed that this idea of sex being filthy can lead you to unseccessful marriages and unwanted pregnancies.

Regarding your question do you consider pee and poo disgusting and filthy but you still do it out of need.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

^ Lets see what code_red has to say about this. Maybe he should have not jump to conclusion so quick. and :konfused:

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Are you guys just being cheeky or way too sarcastic ... or do you seriously believe all that you post....?? "Sex is filthy/disgusting....."

Where did that come from?

To the best of my knowledge, in Islam, muslim men and women actually get sawaab for enjoying marital contact with their spouse (check out that hadith, if you are interested).

If sex were filthy/disgusting, then the product of sex (i.e. babies - all of you included) are what?? filthy/disgusting?? Sheesh! May be you espouse all sex to be disgusting, and thus banished, and we can rid the world of mankind, in about one generation. Masla hi khatam!! :-)

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Well that was only an example for working in your yard where you can come in contact with dog or cat poop but yes it becomes an obligation to clean yourself with clean water after having sex, this is what I’m telling you according to Islam. I don’t know if any other religion is as clean and hygienic as Islam is, even Nietzsche praised Islam for this.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

Sex is supposed to be enjoyable to most, if that isn't what you feel as a married woman and you're comparing it to picking up poo and pee of a dog and a filthy act, then I honestly don't understand what it is you're going through. It's a way to feel connected to your significant other(hubby) so there is nothing filthy about it. Hope everything is ok for you. Hope I didn't offend you in any way.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

No wonder muzies have such a bad image in britain..

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

I don't know why sex is considered filthy in our culture even for married people. I believe a lot of problems will be solved if we straighten our attitudes towards sex.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

What do you teach your child about sex? Sex and sexual discharge is clean?

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

You don't need to understand this....you know its very complicated especially for non muslims to understand about cleanliness and purity, I suggest don't stress yourself out by going into depth.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

I think people here are confused about actually doing sex and the nijasat of sex and thus having this confused debated about sex and filth.

I’d say actually performing/doing sex with one’s spouse is an enjoyment for which Allah :swt: has given us green signal. Since Allah knows us (humans) more than we do thus we (male) are allowed to have 4 wives.

on the other hand

Getting napak due to performing/doing sex is another thing and thats why one has to clean him/herself ASAP after performing/doing sex.

So both the parties arguing are correct and thus we should not go any further and stop this discussion which will turn into cat and dog fight.

Re: Sex Education & Muslim Youth

This is part of Bush's Lets-Make-Everyone-A-Christian-Program - the same mentality that's causing trouble in the Arab world. Gotta make them heathens good Christians!

Look, abstinence is something that muslims believe in as well.

However, you can't expect a faith-based approach to work on a population that doesn't necessarily follow a faith, or follow in the Christian faith, or is not good about following their faith. That would be a majority of American teenagers.

Has the Here's-a-condom approach worked better? Some say its made it worse, and it might have increased the amoun of sex taking place. But when condoms are used at least people aren't getting sick.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather my husband banged a couple of chics in high school and worn condoms, than not have worn a condom. Because the fact that he's had relations before marriage is something he needs to square with God. I have to live with the HIV risk, however. And is it fair for me to get infected, because condoms weren't being made available to teens at the time he was a teenager, and because society felt that teaching abstinence is the only way to go? Well obviously, it wouldn't have worked in this scenario, right, because he still had sex and now I have to deal with those consequences.

(that's just hypothetical - my husband doesn't fit this picture)

However, this becomes a BIG DEAL when everyone in society is behaving in this hypocritical way - saying yes yes in their religious groups to abstinence, but not practicing it. Because then diseases like HIV become even MORE rampant than they already are in the US --> and your economy has to deal with that! You're seeing perfect examples of what HIV type illnesses do to the economy. People can't work, and they drain the health system, which is screwed up in the US anyway.

Therefore, for a country like the US - teaching abstinence and making condoms available, and other birth control methods available becomes a necessity.

In Pakistan, how much is the need to hand out condoms on the streets? I mean, I think condom distribution and sex education needs to be improved in Pakistan, but the teenage sex incidence isn't that high that HIV becomes such a BIG deal. Its definitely rising in Pakistan, so they should think about starting some sort of school education program that teaches little kids what AIDS can do to you.
